Removal of Teeth Troy recently had a dental for the first time. He's 3 years old and needed it badly. He still had about 4 retained puppy teeth and due to my lack of keeping his mouth clean he needed 2 other teeth removed due to decay. 6 teeth lost in total. I was just curious, how many other yorkietalk members pups have had some teeth removed? What has teeth/dental maintenance been like for you since you've owned your yorkie? I now, use a water additive, use wipes daily and brush weekly. |
Georgie has had 8 of his adult teeth extracted. My sweet boy is all gums in the front:) He hasn't missed a beat with it. Eventhough I brush his teeth he has always had issues. He has gone for 4 dentals in his 7 years and this last time was when the 8 were extracted. |
Couver had a dental at 3 and luckily didn't have to have any teeth removed. Khloe's coming up on her first dental (Oct 27th, I'm a nervous wreck!) and I'm really hoping not to lose any teeth with her, but we will see. I'm not the best at keeping up with their teeth, so it's all my fault if she does... I would just keep up the brushing, and he should be okay. I plan on doing dentals every other year. |
Bella is four, I got her when she was 16 months old. She gets annual dental checks and cleanings. I'm not good with the brushing, but so far she has all her teeth and the vet tells me whatever I'm doing, keep it up. |
Pixie had to have all four of her baby canines removed. My new guy Sabre, I THINK will have a cleaner mouth. It could just be wishful thinking, since dry food and bully sticks didn't stop Pixie from retaining her babies, lol. |
