Need Help Everyone telling me, I can't give my new baby a bath a lot... what do I do when she smells. I want to love her and hold her.. But I can't stand the smell.. I was giving her 1 bath a day, but yesterday she got 2... So does anyone have advise:aimeeyork:animal-pa |
Welcome to YT:D How old is she? I think a bath once a week is normal, If she still smells after a bath everyday its probably something the vet should check:) |
I think the baby should be seen by a vet for a body odor that is that repungent. Is this a rescue dog? Did you get her from a breeder, smelling that bad? I have never smelled a puppy that had an offensive smell, especially one so bad it did not disappear with one bath!....... |
When my Lola came home from the puppy mill, she had an awful smell that would not go away. It turns out she had an internal yeast infection. Switching to grain free kibble took care of it. Lucy smelled too. She had rotten teeth and infected gums, as well as ear infections. Dental surgery and ear meds cleared up those smells. Another source of dog smell could be retained puppy teeth, though I don't know how old your pup is. Sounds like a trip to the vet is in order. Bathing too often can dry out your baby's skin. Best wishes! |
Sounds like a vet visit is in order. Mine only stink what they roll in Poop! |
I agree with all above . . .off to the vet. . . Let us know how it turns out |
A bath every day is excessive. Mine get a bath once a week and smell great. I would take him to the vet... He shouldn't get stinky every day. |
Every day is way to much. Once a week should be fine unless she gets into poo or mud. What kinda of smell is it? |
Is she really young? You need to give us more information. |
I agree with everyone else take your furbaby to the vets to be on the safe side, also i think a bath every day is way excessive, good luck sweetheart keep us all informed on your babies progress |
Daily is too much. What are you using as a shampoo? What are you feeding? Have infections been ruled out? |
SORRY, I should of said she rolls around on the puppy pad, after she goes.., I try to remove the pad fast, and get her out of the crate,, but not fast enough.. So what else can I do to when she smells of peepe and poop:confused::confused:.. I forgot have much work it is to have a puppy.. But I love her so much:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:) |
When Sabre came home, he smelled really doggy. It was a surprise to me, because Pixie always smelled sweet from day one. We just said it's because Pixie is a people and Sabre is a puppy. A few days after transitioning him off the food he was feeding and onto Royal Canin Yorkie Puppy, I picked him up and sniffed his neck, and had to call my girls over in excitement telling them to smell him too. They both said he smells like Pixie!!! I expect it was the food, since all the baths in the world weren't working. |
