Just a dogs life I think not... I was told this weekend from a friend of mine, her daughters brother in law has a four month female yorkie. She stays in a crate hours on end, and very little attention, not updated on vet checks. My husband and I said no more puppies, one's enough, unless we get an outdoor dog. Well I told him about this little one, her name being Bella also, and he said that's just not right. So I text my girlfriend and told what he said. So who know's we might end up with a second by the end of the year. Name will have to be changed, but if she's not getting attention she probably doesn't know her name anyway. I pray that the right decision will be made in this. |
Even if your husband does not want another dog you would be doing that poor captive a service by taking her in until you can find a good home for her. I have done this for years for the animals that get dumped out here in the woods. I take them in and get them settled and healthy, then start searching for a good home. We have a couple of shelters around here. The one does kill animals that have been there for more than 2 weeks so I never have anything to do with them. The other shelter only puts down the animals that are very ill or very old. They usually are full so I have had to do what I can to help these poor animals. It's hard to part with them after putting so much work into them but I have to so I can help the next one that comes along. I hope you can do something for that poor little dog locked in a crate. |
I've wondered how my Bella would be with another little girl. Being told the other little one is 4 months old, I'm thinking the pecking order would be established quickly. The 4 month old Bella, I've decided if we did a chance to get her, name change would be Izzy. Sad, I'm already thinking of all this. From my understanding two is nice, especially if let alone for short periods. I'm at home most of the time. Max of being away is about 4 hours. |

I text my friend and told her if she gets any info about her to let me know. My husbands was not happy hearing about her conditions. He felt sorry for her. |
I hope you can get her out of that situation. i have 3 females and they establish their pecking order and they get along fine. Keep us posted! |

Here's the latest on the little yorkie I had told you all about. I text my friend and she unfortunately the owner is going to keep her. She said it was to sad that it was going that way. She wished that thery would give her up so she could and live with us. |
I've been watching your post because I am in a similar situation. A friend of my husband is going through a rough divorce and has a 3 year old female that is full of fleas, not current on shots and he doesn't have the money to care for her. His friend is moving into an old apartment on top of his business. My husband told him to please let us know if he wants us to foster this little girl for a while until he can get on his feet. He told us in no uncertain terms NO. Some people think if they have a dog, whatever care and attention they give their dog is normal and the dog should be grateful for what it gets. Sometimes they aren't cruel....... just selfish. |
