One of the worst scares of my life! Hiya everyone! I've been AWOL for a couple of months, but wanted to let you know what happened yesterday! For those who don't know me, my yorkies are inside only babies..they do have a "yorkie yard" that is accessible to them..it is a 10 by 10 gazebo type yard that has indoor/outdoor carpet that is attached to a doggy door and tunnel in my house. Anyways, the likely hood my babies could EVER get lost or out is VERY unlikely...BUT.. I left the house to go out of town for a few hours. Apparently, my laundry room door did not get shut completely. After we left, the wind blew the door open. All 4 escaped to the back yard (the real backyard which has a 6 foot picket fence). Well, one of my "angels" found the ONLY spot in the yard that wasnt protected by a concrete footing and dug a hole! He and "blue born" Mack escaped....My neighbor just happened to be outside and saw them leave....Bevo and my 2 pound wee one were heading for the new hole as well when he saw it..he covered the hole and Jaxson happily went running to him, but Mack ran off. I got the phone call that Mack was lost! My heart sank! I called the Police dept., posted on Facebook and half the town went out looking for him. (Luckily I live in a small town of 5000 and most know me!) I had just got to my destination an hour away and immediately turned around to come home. Result: I had an alert out for a WHITE yorkie in yellow pajamas and a green pony tail! Who could miss that! lol! Mack was found about 45 minutes later. He was terrified. He had pooped all over himself! I cannot even put into words how terrified I was he was gone...or someone would keep him..or a car would hit him....or etc. I cannot imagine how I would feel right now if my baby boy wasnt cuddled up in my arms. I swear, this little man has 1000 lives! He just keeps amazing me! My little miracle man sure wants to keep me on my toes! Anyways, keep your babies close! No matter how confident you are that they are safe and sound, theres always a chance something off the wall will happen! Miss you all!!!! |
Oh my gosh! How scary.... but the PJs cracked me up! So glad he's home safe and sound. You, on the other habd, will need a week to recover from this little stunt! Hugs, |
Mack lost???? Must have sank your heart to hear those words but so so so glad you got him back and he's home & safe tonight. Having dogs is just like a roller-coaster ride stuffed inside a carnival fun house with those crazy mirrors and creepy clowns! It's so much fun, has some flat scary moments and you never know what's coming next! |
 My heart was racing a million miles a minute as I was reading. Thank God everyone is safe now. |
I know! Hes a little turd! :D And yes, everyone cracked up that they were looking for a dog in pajamas! lol! |
:animal-pa Kendra, I'm so glad Mack is back safe and sound!:) Our Yorkies stay inside for the most part, but on a few occassions, the boys have "snuck" out. I totally understand that feeling of panic. After reading your post and knowing that things had a happy ending thank goodness, I did have to chuckle about the clothes. One of our Yorkie's whose name is Connar actually sits down and will make noises indicating that he wants his clothes back on if he sees me with an outfit. :) What we would do without our little babes? :animal36 Again, glad all of your babies are safe at home with you!! :animal-pa |
It is such a frightening thing not to know where one of your dear little ones are. I'm so glad you got him back fairly quickly. You are right. No matter how fool proof we think our set up is there could always be the possibility of the unexpected happening. |
wow, how scary. so glad everyone is safe at home again..:) |
What a scare Im glad all is well now though |
That's a good neighbour. Thank goodness he helped out and stopped the escape from being so much worse. Love the alert, it's so funny, but only funny because the little one is safe. You must of been terrified, I know what it's like to think the worse and to imagine all the awful possibilities until they are safe once more in your arms. Even if you hear they are found, it's not right until they are back with you. Then you can let the breathe out you were holding. Sorry you went through this, and thrilled it had a happy ending. |
I am happy to hear that everything is ok. I know how scary that is. One of my dogs escaped last year and wouln't come she just kept running. Thankfully we live in the country and finally caught her. |
Oh my goodness I am so glad that all are safe and sound and back where they should be. I'm so sorry Mack had a terrible adventure, I know that was so scary for him. Glad all is good now. |
Wow glad to hear all ended well. I think Mack is special to alot of us. |
OMGosh ! so glad this had a happy ending. Thank goodness for your neighbor. You know I have the same kid of set up, doggy door, smaller covered doggy yard within the big fenced yard. Stuff can still happen. Going out right now to check for holes ! Kisses for Mack Brown and hugs for you. |
I am so glad everyone is safe. Bring that wonderful neighbor a cake for his quick response. he saved what could have been a lot worse. I was reading so scared of what was happening. And at then end a sigh of relief that everyone was safe. I do have to say I giggled at the discription of the alert. Yellow jammies and green pony tail. Too cute. Makes me go and sqoosh my kitties. Glad everyone is safe. Hugs to them all |
