Yorkie Skin Question: dry bumps I have a 6month old Yorkie. He had one or two dry bumps appear on his neck a few weeks back. I didn't think much of it at first, but they seem to have multiplied. He now has several bumps around is neck. The bumps are dry and some have small scabs. His hair has not fallen out, they do not leak puss. Has anyone experienced this with their Yorkie? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, i am concerned and I want to keep my little guy healthy. thanks |
Maybe flea bites or mosquito bites??? |
I don't think so. I had a poodle before who had flee bites and these don't appear to be the same. He is inside all the time except for just the few miniatures when he is outside for the bathroom so I don't believe he would have that many mosquito bites. |
Ziva had a few small bumps as a puppy, at the base of her ears, to her neck. I found rinsing out shampoo much more than I thought necessary was really important. Rinse, rinse and one more time! Helps to have an extra helper when giving a bath to a wiggly puppy! |
I never would have thought of that. I was wondering if possibly bathing to frequently was causing dry skin. But I never thought I'm not getting all the soap off. I'll definitely be more cautious with that. Hopefully it will help. Thanks |
This can occur from "playful" bites from another Dog, has he been exposed to such activity ? |
I would take him to the vet... Bumps could really be anything. It would be best to get an expert's opinion. |
Thanks fir the advice and input |
