Interesting find on Pinterest A friend of mine forwarded a home made solution she found on Pinterest for keeping your dogs from marking on the same spot of your carpeting if you are having this problem. 2 Cups water, 1 Tablespoon essential oil (like cinnamon oil) and 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper. Mix this up and spray the area where your dog keeps marking once a day for a week. She also cautioned not to use this if you have cats because essential oil is deadly for cats for some reason. Have any of you heard of this or heard of this? |
interesting, thx 4 sharing |
im pretty sure they are only toxic if sparyed on the cats because they lick to clean themselves and can then ingest the oil. i spray lavender oil mixed with water in my house and my cats have never had an issue and this is an oil you would not want to spray directly on your cat. |
I am going to try this. Macy is pretty well potty pad trained now but before she caught on, she kept peeing on the same spot on my carpet. I have always kept that spot blocked off. I am going to try this and see what happens. I was also worried that the pepper may stain my light colored carpet red. I'll report my findings (good or bad). |
Interesting... I guess this isn't something I could use because I have cats. Thanks for sharing though! |
