teddy steals his own food Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone's yorkie takes his food one nibble at a time and runs with it and then eats it ,then goes and gets another piece....its like he's afraid someone will take it from him:confused: |
My Choppa started doing that after his older sister started growling over both of their bowls. When I separated where they ate, he still would take a piece and run to a place with back turned and eat it then sneak back up on the bowl. I started feeding him first while sitting next to him and reassuring him and Shanti had to wait. My food not hers. |
there are no other dogs in the home. I got him3 months ago at age 12 weeks. I was thinking that he had to fight the others in the litter to eat. He was very small 1.9 lbs at 12 weeks...but he still does this crazy ritul |
I think they think it's s fun game:laugh: My Luna still eats that way and she's 6 years old. She also loves to "attack" the kibbles and will throw them up into the air a few times before she eats it. She likes it even better if I participate:) Enjoy your new baby's antics:D |
Atticus does the exact same thing! Now not as much as when we first brought him home, but he still does. I too think he had to fight for the others in his litter...there were six little ones! |
thanks for your input all. Just one more question. How do I get Teddy's pic on here? |
My Raelle does the same thing...to the point that Orion thinks she doesn;t want it and tries to eat hers as well as his own! As for pics...bottom of the page..Manage Attatchments...that will take you to a browse window...wait for the pics to upload, then close that window and hit 'submit' If the pics are the right size they will show up, if not you will have to re-size. Its the box that says 'Additional options'. Hope that helped :) |
Roxy has eats this way. |
My moms dogs have always taken a mouth full of food from the kitchen to living room and spit it out to eat one at a time so when she got Sammy he saw them do it and he can only fit one piece in his mouth at a time so he takes one in spits it out then picks it back up and eats it. |
It sounds like he's just a playful puppy. He probably sees it as a game and it makes eating fun :) |
