My Heart Broke This Morning. I Work Pt As A Bus Monitor For Autistic Children. When Picking Up Our 1st Child A Man Was Walking A Cairn Terrier And A Yorkie.he Came Up To The Van To Let Us Know Josh (student) Was Still In The Bahamas. I Said Your Cairn & Yorkie Mix Is Adorable(boy Was I Embarressed). He Said Oh No This Is A Yorkie. I Paid 1,300.00 For Her. She Is About 13 Inches Tall, Bigger Than The Cairn , Floppy Ears &8 Months Old. I Asked To Hold Her . My Heart Broke, Her Eyes Were Bulging, But She Was Loving And Playful. The Man Said He Got Her By The Same Breeder In Ga That He Got His Cairn From. He Said She Has Crystals In Her Urine & A Thyroid Codition. I Held My Horror Insude. He Informed Me That His Breeder And A Nother Breeder From Ga Said It Is Common In Yorkies. I Quietly Told Him I Had Tons Of Experience W Yorkies. He Said The Contract Said Only A Refund For Congenital Defects. He Has Spent Over 1300 Alone For Tests W Vet Also. He Said Hiw Wife Wanted To Sell Her But He Was Attached. Well, I Said I Am Searching For A Yorkie( Not This One Guys) And If U Do Decide To Sell Her , Please Give Ur # To Josh's Mom. She Had The True Yorkie Spirit.i Had My Heart Set On An 8 Week Pup Who Would Be Within The Standard.i Must Tell U Yt Pals If This Man Calls Me B4 Feb I Will Get Chloe. Im Still So Sad & Mad.as I Hugged Chloe Goodbye He Told Me This Man Had 8 Litters Of Yorkie Pups & Other Terriers. I Politely Said No Ty Trying Not To Cry For Chloe,she Kept Bounding Into My Arms. I Am Outraged!i Should Of Taken The Website Adress But I Would Of Blasted This "breeder". Can Anyone Spell Puppy Mill!!!! :(

GOOD God - that is NOT common in ANY dog - how could they tell him that and how could he BELIEVE it ? You did great trying to help educate him though.

how sad for that little yorkie - that man was taken for a ride and his little dog is going to suffer for the GREED of a bad breeder - It's just awful - maybe if you see him again you could find out about that breeder ? Telling customers that a bad medical condition is 'common' is just a plain LIE.

How sad if only that poor baby got help. I know you did all you could to inform this man and I am sure by your discription you where heart broken. :mad:

How sad this situation is. For the humans and the dog. I am happy that your paths crossed and maybe you have made a difference in the life of that poor dog.
I agree...if you can get the name of the breeder on GA and post it to warn someone else from getting a puppy from that same breeder..Shame on them...

Good morning- here comes my ignorance,...what would crystals in urine be from? I don't know and can't say I have heard that before...but I am guessing by everyones upset manner that it is not good....thanks in advance for a little knowledge...Jim

I know of an elderly Bichon who had the same thing. She also had low thyroid and was very overweight. The vet treated her for her frequent Urinary tract infections but I never heard what her final cause of death was..

Very sad story. Sounds like the little dog has its share of problems. It is amazing how some people get little dogs with so many problems - and still take such good care of them. I can certainly understand your being upset. I would be too --especially if I saw the poor little guy.

Vviccles - Not criticizing - but why do you start all your words with capital letters. It does make your post a little more difficult for me to read. And -- I tried to type the way you do - and it's a lot more work typing.

When reading your story, which is so sad and unbelievable, I was remembering something I came across the other day and it was a breeder from Elberton, GA that was named as the breeder for a number of poor baby yorkies.
