Niagara on the Lake 1 Attachment(s) are any YT members living in Niagara on the Lake, we are heading up there the weekend for the weekend after this 9/14-9/17 and we are bringing Lola found a nice B&B that is dog friendly. If you love wine and live anywhere near this, this is one of the prettiest towns and area I have been in, and the funny thing for us here in the states especially in MI it is less than a 5 hour drive and so few people know about it. We are bringing our bike and plan to ride to the fall along the Niagara River on their nice bike path, I have the perfect basket for Lola. Pic is with Kirby my last purebred yorkie |
wow, sounds like a lovely place . hope you all have a wonderful time.. love the pic. |
Sounds like fun. We live about 1.5 hrs away. |

I work for a few hours on Saturday, but that might still be the better day to hook up. Unfortuantely I have never trained Razzle to ride in a basket! Maybe we will need to meet someplace local for lunch and a nice walk. I'll see if Ball's FAlls I told you about has water for swimming in. If you plan on going into Niagara Falls on the Canadian Side on Saturday there is a waterish side park that has picnic tables et al. We could do a BBQ and a doggie romp. We have a lovely portable Weber and of course would supply all the goodies. Oh I do so hope everything works out and we can meet up. |
Oh how fun. Sounds like a wonderful time! Y'all enjoy! |
I am originally from North Tonawanda, New York so I know right where you are! However, having lived in Houston for almost 27 years, it isn't possible for me to be there. Boy, I don't miss the snow and cold but I DO miss the GORGEOUS AUTUMNS in that part of the world. Louise and Zachary |
Enjoy and I love your basket... |

I forgot to mention, it probably has the second largest amount of winearies in North America after CA. There most be 70 or more and you can ride your bike to many of them. Lola is having a special wine harness dress made for the trip, we don't have it yet but I will post pictures when I get it. |
Luckily your trip isn't planned for this weekend as the weather here is awful and we are being pounded by high winds and rain. I often go to Niagara on The Lake, its "stomping grounds" for my friends and I. But whatever I do on the Canadian side I always match with the American side...we who are fortunate enough to live over here consider Canada and USA our home! Below is a link to the American side...many of these places (been to them all) have wonderful special events etc., and are just as fun as the Canadian Side. I was in awe on my first visit as I didn't even know these things were here! Niagara USA :: Wine Trail There is much to do at Niagara on the Lake, even in the winter. Have fun and I hope the weather is good. |

Oh I'm not available until after October 5th, my weekends are being spent on my new house! So sorry I will miss meeting you! However, I wouldn't be able to bring my two girls anyway it would be hard to drag Miss Mini's plastic bubble out of the house and over the bridge lol....Miss Mia is deaf and I am not comfortable yet taking her places shes not familliar with, leash or not...my fear is her getting away from me...however; I am always available for a good long walk, dinner, drinks, lunch etc.....It would be great, maybe even msyorktown could join us????!!! Have a good time this weekend I hope the weather holds out! |
Lynzy are you in upstate NY? What do you use to get across the bridge, I almost thought I would have to postpone our trip, late Monday night I realized our passports expired, at that point it was to late to get the enhanced drivers lic so I had to get an expedited passport. It took the best part of two days since I had to drive back and forth to Detroit and wait for several hours each day. And ouch it was $110.00 for each passport plus 60 each for expedite fees, $340.00 total, plus $20.00 in Detroit parking fees and who knows how much in gas, just to drive into Canada. I can't wait to meet you Gail, I been telling Lola she is going to meet a new boyfriend so she is excited to. I packed all her gear, she even has the prettiest new wine label harness dress for the trip, plus her life vest, various toys, leashes, food, treats, stroller, car seat, bed, yikes there is hardly room for our stuff. Will you be bringing you video camera? |

I almost always travel with video camera, Dave will have his super duper Nikon slr, his camera bag weighs a ton! I haven't packed for Razzle yet, but life jacket ditto, all weather coat ditto, extra hair bands, small grooming kit (and yes I'll put in the clippers, and some other grooming things;) I pack also some Sham Wow's they are great to mop up extra water from the coat. Our water toy bag lives in the car too. Extra leash and halter, don't forget an extra for yours, aawh I see you have. Remember your emergency kit too!. I am all out of Bendryl do you have some in your kit? Maybe I pack portable grooming table. I'm thinking I might pack portable generator, and hair dryer. What do you think? Will we be able to go back to your room, to blowdry the pups, if it turns chilly out? If not we'll throw in the portable generator and hair dryer. Do you want me to pack a sample kit for Isle of Dogs, or ISB? In the IOD I'm almost out of the #51, was going to get some at a show next wkend. But I have PEK which is fabulous. I have a minkoil I adore. Let me know, what product lines(s) you haven't tried and I'd be happy to pack a little sampler pack for you, that is if I have them. I'm going to give you some chrome Coat Conditioner, which is quickly coming up on my most fav list of conditioners, that stuff is amazing, and I think would work well with your gal's coat. I don't think we shall need sunscreen for the pups, but I always travel with a bottle in the pups water bag. I can't believe I didn't tell you but, Razzle and Magic were actually in an official dock jumping competition last Sunday. And you won't believe this, but I had bought a new Chuck it toy, on sale no less, I thought for sure it was water toy as most of their toys are, well I do the first toss in the water, and Magic god bless him, balks for the first time in a long time to jump. There I am trying to get him to jump off the dock, and saying See your toy, see your toy! Mommy wants you to get that TOY. Then I look and I really look, no NO NO sign of the toy! LMAO. The audience is yelling at me the TOY SANK..... How embarassing. First rule, have a toy that floats. So anyhow it was the shortest life of a toy we have had in our household, ummmm 48 hrs maybe. Razzle got into the finals as well in his division! ..... 3feet 6 " can you believe it??? Anyhow if you have the time drop me a line here, but we will speak Sat late day anyway, to firm up Sunday's plans. |
Have fun on your trip! Make sure to take lots of pictures and share them when you get back :) |
