Is This Strange Behavior - Or Not I have a 6 year old spayed female yorkie. I just recently adopted her (3 weeks ago). I also have a neutered male yorkie 4 years old that I've had since he was 13 weeks. Yesterday the 6 year old female did the strangest thing. While I was doing laundry, she snuck upstairs and pooped. My laundry room is in my garage, when I came back in the house, I saw her coming down the stairs with something in her mouth - it was her poop! Like she was BRINGING IT TO ME. She didn't eat it, or anything else, she just carried it in her mouth from upstairs to downstairs and put it down. Why would she do that? I'm baffled. |

Not sure if it's strange but Brandi has done something similar. But instead of her own poop (verdict is out on that one) its usually the cats poop. When she shows me the poop, it usually means she wants to me to chase her which I usually do. Needless to say we don't play that game anymore:p |
My male used to do that when he was much younger but he finally stopped eating poop. Both acts are strange - lol. Quote:

Snitching herself out? Never heard of it. None of mine are pooh eaters though maybe some do this? |

It was as if she was saying, hey Mom, I pooped upstairs, sorry, just thought I would bring it to you as I'm not sure how you want to dispose of it. Weird. |
Lucy has eaten her poop. Usually because one of my kids waited too long to take her out. I thought it was because she was worried that I'd be mad about her accident:eek:. It's nice to hear that's what yorkies do:p. Anyway, when I find her remnants on the floor, I make sure she give each of my kids big sloppy kisses!:D Tracey |

I once owned a yorkie and 2 cats. He really liked pick stuff out of the litter box too. I used to hate the kitty litter box scented kisses the most! What we do for and with our babies!!!!!!!! Tracey |
How funny... I've never heard of this before, but I guess she thought she was being helpful? lol |
If your yorkie ate the poop, I would be concerned as it is connected with behavior problems - however she may have been house trained and knew as my yorkie does when I ask her "did you pee?" she starts to hide if she did and I take her outdoors and ask her "go pee for mama" and she does - Yorkies are much more intelligent than most owners would agree I believe your yorkie was well trained and you did not let her out to do her thing in time and she knew NOT to poop indoors....How cool is that you have such a sophisticated yorkie!!! |

Um no, it is a very common occurence in dogs, all dogs, big, little, good and bad...dogs. I've had, more than a few...that ate poo and none of them had behavior problems, none of them...well except Mia she tends to chew my expensive flipflops...oi boi |
I can't believe she brought it to you! |
