46 days pregnant and I am paranoid My 3lb 7 oz little girl is at day 46, both mom and baby are healthy - ultrasound only showed 1 baby, xray in 10 days to do measurements, tonight she is acting a bit different than normal, she is not as clingy - lol - normally I am complaining I can't shake her off. Before anyone decides to blast me for just wanting to talk about how lonely i feel as she lies on her blankie less than 4 ft from me - I am more than prepared for ER C-section, vet checks, tails and claws, deworming, shots, any unfortunate unseen complication that could arise. I have put money on my vet acct since she tied once and only once with my male. I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I am excited but my concern for Mom's well being keeps me from running around shouting my yorkie is gonna have a puppy. I guess as she gets closer I get more anxiety and worry ( excessive, have er #'s in cell, on fridge, in console of car and in purse ) -Think I am looking for another me who is a worry wort to say it will all be okay, Vet has reassured me he will do everything to make sure mom and baby are both okay. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! Sorry you're feeling nervous.... your post is exactly why I decided not to breed... I'm feeling nervous for you just after reading your post. Sounds like you're prepared... do you have a Yorkie Breeder mentor... I'm sure one would be much more in tune to what you're going through than me... Best of Luck and I'll keep you and yours in my prayers.... |
It's only paranoid if your fears have no basis in reality. You should be fearful. Good breeders do not breed dogs under 5 pounds and most say 6 is there limit. Just because your girl is small, it doesn't mean her offspring will be small, even if you mated her with a tiny dog. Good breeders study the line, you girl may have been one of the smallest in the line. You not only have to worry about her carrying the pup safely, but there are often more complications when there is only one pup, it sometimes gets to big for the mom to deliver. Also, tinies often have joint problems, and the extra weight of pregnancy can worsen their condition. I hope she makes it. I also hope if you were lucky this time, you get her fixed, pregnancy isn't that easy on a any dog, there's no reason to put her through that. |
I would definitely be ready to spend lots of money for a csection. I will keep your yorkie in my prayers because it can be life threatening for a yorkie under 5 pounds to be pregnant. Hope all works out and you get her spayed after this. |
