is this normal?? hi i have a 10 week old female yorkie and today she has decided to hump a teddy  is this normal whys she doing this  |
Humping can be a result of changing hormone levels. Dogs can "hump" due to hormones, excitement, (not necessarily sexual arousal), boredom, a stress reliever and/or to display dominance. It is an instinctive behavior, it is natural nonetheless. |
My 7 year old has a habit of doing this with those fleece crate beds...I have no idea why, drives me crazy...shes been spayed since 9mos. of age. I no longer use them! Miss Mia my 10 month old doesn't do this ever, but she sure does chew... |
Thanks guys I wasn't sure with her being female I've only ever had male dogs before hehe x |
Females hump & mark too. |
Sorry another thing how do u clean there eyes? |
Our female Boxer humped until she got to old and couldn't anymore lol. She actually only humped my husband they would play and thats how she would exert her dominance. As far as the eyes they make wipes or you can use a warm cloth. |
Thnxs for all ur help x |
I just use a wash rag with water but mine are on a BARF diet so they really don't get eye goobers |
I have owned two female yorkies and both hump. I have owned other females of different breeds and they didn't hump. I think the female yorkies are more inclined to hump than other breeds. |

I prefer grainless low allergen foods. I fed Innova then switched to taste of the wild now I feed BARF. Been hearing a lot of quality reviews on FRomm kibble. We orefer zukes mini naturals, chicken, baby carrots for treats at my house. |
Eye Goo : I just wet them down and pull them out with my fingers. Or after a bath I use a flea comb they slide right out. |
Calleigh has a favorite dog toy she likes to hump. She only does it once in awhile, when she has to be the boss of someone. Lol. :) |
