Update on Molly Joy (NOT GOOD NEWS) Just heard from Mollys new Mom and she went to the eye doctor today and it was bad. Molly has Progressive Retinal Athropy. This is genetic and there is no cure for it so she will remain blind. I am devestated. I pray that she will be ok in her new home and I wonder if she is missing me like I am missing her. This news just tears me up |
Awe Donna I am so sorry to hear that. I am sure she misses you. I am glad she is in a good home. |

Miss Mia often makes me lay down (shes got the power) just so she can lay across my chest and put her neck on my mouth, she will push down until I start humming...yes humming...this makes her relax and feel secure, I don't know why, it just does... I'm trying to say, though deafness and blindness are not what we want for our babies, they don't mind, all they ask for is to be cared and to be allowed to give YOU unconditional love... I'm sorry your going through this and feeling like this...I wish I could say something to make you feel better. |
Oh no. :( I am so sorry. But being blind doesn't mean she can't be loved. Her new mommy and daddy will still love her. She doesn't have to see them to know how much they love her. I know you really miss her. I can't imagine how hard it is on you. I will confess, the news teared me up too. :( |
I lost little Kady 4 years ago. She had one eye removed when she was 10 yrs old because she had cancer of the retina. Then a couple of yrs later she had to have the other one removed due to severe glacoma. It never slowed her down at all. She could get up and down the front steps and up and down the stairs to the couch. I now have a little McKenzie who is 2 1/2 yrs old. She was born blind but you would never know it unless someone told you. She runs and plays inside and out and never runs into anything. It is just so amazing to watch her. Her other senses make up for her blindness especially her hearing. She sleeps downstairs in her play yard and never makes a sound but one night she started barking and carrying on so I got up to check on her and low and behold there was water on the kitchen floor. There was a leak upstairs and the water was dripping down the wall all over the kitchen floor. If it had not been for my blind little girl we would have woke up the next morning to a bigger mess. Just remember BLIND DOGS SEE WITH THERE HEARTS and you're little one will be just fine. |

Oh I am so sorry to hear this news. I was hoping for better news. Molly is loved for sure...it's probably hardest on those who love them. My last big dog went blind in 2008. I retrained him so I could guide him with commands. He did absolutely awesome...you'd never know. {{{Hugs}}} |
Very sorry it was not something that could be fixed. My Noah (RIP) was almost completely blind and God Love him, he didn't seem to mind at all. He lived to be 18. Molly will be fine. Hugs |
