Talking & snapping ID tags Hello there, My doggie needs some ID tags and, but I've some questions and concerns and will greatly appreciate all ya's feedback. 1. I'm considering getting a Red Dingo tag, but couldn't find a single image of how the engraving looks like. Do you have a Red Dingo tag? Any chance you could post a close up pic of the engraving? (cover your phone#)??? Just want to get an idea of how deep the letters are engraved and how big it's the font. 2. What size is good enough for a 7-pound dog? His name is short, Kiko, & will not post the address, just phone # and probably a short sentence... 3. How many tags? -- I've a rabbies tag and the county registration tag which my dog doesn't wear because it's gigantic. So, with the ID tag it will be 3... How many tags does your furlove wear? 4. What do you think is a better sentence to include that will increase the chances of motivating whoever gets to find my pup to return him: - "Please help me return home" -"Needs daily meds" or - Service animal (he is registered as my service dog). Sorry if this is too much to read. Just that those tags are a little pricey and I want to make the right choice. :D Thanks in advance and God bless! :) Ps- pls show off your pup's tags no matter the brand, I may chance my choice. |
I have Red Dingo tags for all of Sophie Kate's harnesses (she has a couple) and her collar. I will take pictures when I get home but I can tell you the engraving is very clear and easy to read. I had a concern when I was buying tags because on some of them the font was just to small. I cannot take a picture of them right now but will later and post if necessary. |
We bought the pettags4less tags at christmas time. We needed 3 for the dogs and 5 for people (my son kept leaving his flashdrive in school) I wanted lightweight aluminum ones for Ziva and Abby's collars. They wear their heavy licenses on their harnesses. I was at first dissappointed with just laser printing not realizing how much on the surface it is- But they are Great, not a scratch on them after 8 months of keychains and year old puppy. Can't beat the price and the small pink hearts are sweet. |
We bought tags from Pet ID Tags, Dog Tags, Collars, Leashes! . They are durable, have lots of choices, and for $9.95 you can register yourself as the owner. For that one time fee, they keep a record on all your pets that have their tag, now and in the future. Anyone that finds the dog will have your info on the tag, plus a 1-800 number they can call. You can put many numbers on your registration -- your land line, cell phones, vets number, friends numbers ... so if something happens luckypet will contact every number to be sure the pet gets the help they need ASAP. |

Laser engraved ones are cool Quote:
I'll probably order a plain aluminum to replace the big license w an appropriate size one (will engrave the license # on that one so my pup doesn't has to wear the heavy & bulky one). Thanks for your ideas! :) |

Anyone else has red dingo tags? Even if you can't post a pic, advice on the sizing would help me tons :) |
Callie has a red dingo tag and the engraving still looks good after two years. I would suggest putting your cell phone number on the tag because when your dog goes missing you are normally out looking for them so you would not be able to answer your home phone plus if you go on a trip and your dog gets lost your covered. Callie has her rabies tag and id tag on her collar. I just have Callie and my cell number on her tag. |

Thanks :) |
Jaeger wears 3 tags-double sided ID tag, rabies tag, and his homeagain tag. Hopefully soon he'll wear a therapy tag as well. For your phrase, i'd suggest "Service dog. Reward if returned" Or "Service dog. Reward!" For Jaeger's ID tag, we have his name on the front, our address, my phone number, and the word "Reward" |
3 Attachment(s) I don't have a Red Dingo but have heard nothing but good things about them! I will never have anything but Fetching Tags anymore. Jackson has a few and they will literally last the lifetime of the dog... they are SO visible, from far away, and engraved very deep. Very great quality, thick looking but extremely lightweight (they are aluminum). Pricey, but again, they will last forever. And they have specials and coupons all the time on their Facebook. (I blocked out my phone #). |

2 Attachment(s) We have a couple of Boomerang Tags ( Boomerang Pet Tags: Guaranteed to last. Mailed today, Free Shipping. )...I got Toki a tiny bone one (it's 1 inch long) when she was a pup (it seemed like all of the ones I could find at Petsmart/Petco were so huge at the time) and also a tag that you hook onto the collar that lays flat and doesn't make any noise (this one is probably 1 1/2 inches long)! Pasquale also have a pettags4less tag. I put my name on it, my cell number (cause chances are I'll be out looking for him) and I put NEEDS MEDS(even though he doesnt) cause i figure noone wants to keep a dog that they have to take to the vet for meds. Thats my fear...that someone will find him and want to keep him cause he's so darn adorable! |
