If I don't take Dallas Bubba for a walk no later than 9:30 AM, we are done until dusk. I pack a bag of ice into his Kwiggy Bo when I have to take him with, and my house has been locked up for about 2 months straight with the AC on all the time. Don't get me started on the mosquitoes. I hope it cools off enough in late October so the yorkie meet up/ bark-o-ween party I'm hosting in my back yard will be comfortable (Austin YT meetup, y'all).
I welcome winter, and the return of my little guy wearing his cute sweaters and parkas. And being able to walk in the afternoon. And cups of Mexican hot chocolate! | I have watched the Texas and mid west weather all spring and summer. It seems so unbearable. So awful for the farmers, too. We in the north have to keep everything closed up for 5 to 6 months out of the year due to the cold. One of my kids wanted me to move to Louisiana with them but I figured I would end up having to stay inside most of the time due to the heat. At least here I can put a coat on Gracie and go for a walk when it is cold.
When it was so hot here we had to get out very early before the pavement and sidewalks got to hot. We do walk on a lot of grass but we have to get past the sidewalks and pavement to get to it. Then I would take her out later in the evening when things had cooled off some. There were several days when we did not go out at all due to the heat. I would love to live in Texas when it has a climate change;) |
