my zoe in heat This is my first time ever on a site like this so be patient with me. My Zoe is going out of heat but we did have her bred. She has always had a brownish, red discharge. Now it is more bloody red. What does this mean, nothing I should worry about or maybe not pregnant or this is not unusual. Would love to hear other yorkie owners and there comments. |
I' not sure your going to get the kind of comments you want to hear. I think is always best to save breeding for the ones who are pros. I think that when your going to breed a yorkie that it needs to be at least 5 pounds, be an excellent example of the breed, not be its first heat, be AKC registered, have genetic testing done as well as the male your breeding with, you also need to have a large amount of money set aside for a c section that a lot of small dogs can require, and you need a mentor who is a great breeder and has whelped many times before. I do not know about the bleeding because I spayed my girl before her first heat so she would not get certain cancer and lower her risk of other cancers and also because I know nothing about breeding and would not want to risk her life. I would start preparing for her to be pregnant and the first thing you need to do is get a mentor ASAP. I also hope you plan to keep the pups until 12 weeks. I wish you good luck and hope you do not have any problems. |
Hi, I dont know the answer but maybe if you post your babys age, weight and maybe how many days into cycle that things chaneged, someone may have an experience or info to share. Also, yiu may want to post in breeder area. Were both babies tested for genetic and health issues? |
My baby is almost 3. She is registered and so is the hopefully dad to be. He will be 2 Oct. 1st. We had her artificially inseminated 3 times by my vet last week but then I guess the dad decided he could finally do the deed by himself which he did for the next 3 days. Her discharge has always been there but since yesterday it looks darker. Tuesday was her 17th day since the start of her heat cycle. All genetics are great on both sides. Just wanted to know if this is normal for her before I called the vet, BTW we are out of town and won't be back til Friday. |
I would be on the phone with the vet, that red blood is NOT normal, I am a breeder and I can assure you is NOT normal, please take her to the vet, she can have an infection or something like that. best of luck to you and your girl. hugs, |
Was your vet aware that your dog always has a discharge??? I'd find a new vet. You dog has a problem and breeding her is only going to cause more serious problems. |
I too would be at the vets, no, it's not normal. Hope your baby is ok.... |
