9month old yorkie Hi every1 :) ok so I just got my yorkie yesterday and the previous owner said he was wee wee pad trained well I took him home last night he hasn't been peeing or pooping on the pads and this morning he did the same he's peeing every where and pooping ... Is it Bc it's a new environment? And how can I re train him ... Also he keeps me up all night is this normal .. We played with him all day and night but he doesn't tire out !!! Help please :) |
You need to confine him to an xpen or small room with potty pad when you cant watch him. Alot of times pups will cry at night untill they get used to your routine. You could put his crate on a night stand where he can see you and that may help |
I'm home with him all day I let him run around the house but I would think he would be smart and go to the pads Bc I showed him where it is and he doesn't cry at night he just wants to keep playing .... So ur saying I should put him in a smaller area to train him to pee on the pads ? |
Sounds to me like you'll need to retrain your little guy. I would put him in a crate at night. During the day you will have to watch him like a hawk, it'll be like puppy training again , I'm afraid. They are smart little guys so it probable won't take you long. Good luck! |
Ziva likes things the same, pee pad needed to be in the same place (south east corner, facing left to right) for her to feel comfortable and successful. Abby needed to be confined (an Isis 36"high expen) was a great investment. We still use it! At a year she still has trouble with full run of the house, she has just learned to ring bells to go outside(took some effort, but rewarding)- now we are fine tuning that habit. Good Luck with your new pup! |

I have a 9 month old Yorkie but I've had her since she was 6 weeks old, she will always go to the front door and growl when she wants to go out. I tried training her on the pads, but it never worked for us. |
We've had Bailey since he was 7 months old. While he does great during the day, at night (he sleeps in the kitchen), he will sometimes pee and poop over night. We've tried the bell rope on the door, the bark at the door before going out to potty, but nothing really works. Not sure he'll ever get it. |
The bell ringing was a long process, one step at a time. I followed a utube tutorial that someone had posted here on YT! |
