Here we go yet again!!!! Dear Dog Owner, At your request, I'm sending you this special alert. On August 24, Bil Jac Foods announced a voluntary recall of some of its dry dog food products due to possible contamination with mold. To learn which products are affected, please visit the following link: Bil Jac Dog Food Recall |
It never ends! I wouldn't feed that brand anyway, but thanks for the heads up:) |
oh no i bloody feed mine bil jac!!!! |
Thanks for the heads up. We are feeding Acana right now, so it won't effect us... But it is crazy how many recalls are out there! |
Thanks for the heads up! :) I'm not feeding him this right now but was looking at switching to another brand of food after he runs out. |
Thank you, thank you. My two eat Bil Jac and I wish they didn't. I've tried and tried to get them to eat something else but no go. I literally have tried every brand of food made. I put a little in with their regular food and they actually spit out the new food. Last one I tried was Wellness Core. I tried for 2 weeks and each day I would find the Wellness spit out on the floor. What a couple of brats. Anyway their bag of Bil Jac was not the one recalled for which I am so thankful. |

Mold spreads...a lot. I'd be very nervous to feed something from the same factory or foods made from the same infredients until it is fixed. |
This is so crazy all these dog foods being recalled all the time! I think we need better standards at dog food factorys. I can not wait to get moved so I can start home cooking for Callie. |
I received this alert today also. I have mentioned before that one of my kids knew a guy that worked in a pet food factory. This company produced "high grade" foods that are actually sold in Europe. This guy said there were rules about cleaning machines after each batch of food was complete. Apparently many of the workers ignored these rules that were in place to prevent contamination of mold and other dangerous organisms that could be harmful to pets. Later, they would find out (perhaps after some poor animals had become ill) and they would fire some workers and go about the same routine. I would say this accounts for many of the contaminations that take place in these pet food factories. There are many places along the production line that can hold various kinds of harmful organisms:eek: I hate to think of it. |
