I had changed my last message and added a lot to it but because it took longer than 15 minutes it wouldn't post. Basically what I wanted to post was that I think Raven just wants to be top dog. She may need to be spayed because she licks a lot but no teeth problems. My other girls were grouchy when they had bad teeth but Raven isn't there yet. I am not convinced that the Alpha Rollover method will work because Lady cries when she attacked and it physically hurts her and she is basically defenseless because she has very little teeth and is much smaller. Lady normally thinks that she is top dog because she tries to act tough. When Raven fights with Brandeigh, Brandeigh fights back furiously. She would literally fight to the death if we let her. We have to pull them apart and if we accidently pick Raven up to separate them (she is easier because her hair is much thicker and longer), Brandeigh will continue to jump up to go after her and will bite anything in the way, including hands, legs, and once my husband's testicles. We know she is not purposely biting us but trying to get to Raven. Raven on the other hand, will stop immediately and will act very sorry. She listens very well and in my opinion is the smartest of all three but can not control her impulses. Thank you all and I wish my correction didn't time out. |
Spay. Separate. Can with pennies, I hate the startle defense but startling with a third or fourth distraction can save "body parts" from being bitten. I'm so sorry it is at that point for you, and it really is drastically bad if people are getting bitten even accidently...jumping biting yes...very bad state atm |

I appreciate everyone's help. I am hoping that getting Raven spayed will stop her attacking tendencies. I know it did help Brandeigh because she was fighting a lot before she got fixed and she also had some teeth removed. I know Raven's teeth are fine though so that is not her problem. It really is horrifying because Lady has no way of defending herself at all and I am truly scared that she may kill her. I can honestly say that if we did not pull her off of Lady, she would kill her. It has been only recently that she started attacking Lady. Both girls always left her alone but for some odd reason, Raven seems to go after her the most now. Just today, she almost ripped her eye out for no apparent reason at all. She just looked at her and attacked her. When we pulled her off, Lady just cries, it is really disheartening. We put Raven outside for about 15 minutes and like I said before, she always acts so remorseful. The whole thing is very weird. If spaying doesn't deter her, then I guess I will have to call someone in. I am really scared that Raven is just off and it is bad breeding even though I paid a fortune for her and her father is of a champion line or so the breeder states in the papers. Thank you all. |
I'd be curious to see if Lady had any health issues goibg on if both dogs were acting negatively towards her. Dogs are pack animals and it is a natural pack onstict in some cases to cull a sickly dog from tge pack. Not that that may be the case here but when Elvis had his first seizure episode here I saw the other dogs react negatively to him it took time and watchibg closely to change it. |

It may just be her submissive nature making her an easy target and her size too. The previous was just food for thought. |
I think your right about it br |
being her size and weakness I think she was the alpha in the past because she used to be very bossy (lol). I feel that Raven is trying to take her spot on my husband's lap and plus, maybe her barking is getting on her nerves. It is sad also because she used to play with her all the time. Now Lady is terrified of her. |
