Hi new here!! Need help with breeder referral !,
 
Hi my name is Noelle ! I am new to this forum. The past 4 months I had been eyeballing a yorkie at my local pet store. But had my guard up since I always bought my dogs from a reputable breeder. Because of that I am wanting some help on finding a wonderful breeder from either nj, pa, or westchester. I have done some research prior to posting here. I came across wingold yorkies in nj from the ytc breeder referral. I contacted him through email. But no response. If anyone has other names or info on breeders due to pleasant experiences let me know.

Please please never buy a puppy from a pet store all of them come from puppy mills no matter what the store tells you.

Exactly!! Which is why I am here asking for some help. :) just wrote a blog about how I decided not too buy from the pet store :) thanks for the response :animal-pa

Be sure to check out YorkieTalk's breeder site. I just now saw one posted from a breeder in NJ. I wish you success on your careful search.

If you look on the bottom of the main forum site, you will see another division of postings where members can post advertisements. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you should see it. You must not be inside any thread to see it, though. Go back to the place where you can see all the different threads possible to view.

But keep in mind there are bad breeders who post on yorkietalk so you still need to do research into whatever breeder you chose.

Here are some Yorkshire Terrier Clubs in PA. If you click on the club detail there should be a place for breeder referrals.
American Kennel Club - Club Search and Directory
They usually have info on breeders around across the state.
There is also a club in NJ
American Kennel Club - Club Search and Directory
There is also a place where you can search for the all breed clubs in various states. These people show their dogs but almost always have some pet quality pups to sell. If one person does not have any pups they may know someone who does. These people travel a lot and get to know a lot of breeders.

Yes I am well aware of that. I'm not ready to buy ASAP I just want more options then what the ytc website is showing me so I can judge it and get to know my breeders before spending money. Health first for me before anything!

I'm also looking up some dog shows so I can see some breeders that way and also see the personalities of the dogs.
