Its been awhile!! Hey everyone, I haven't signed on in a little over a year. The updates on my Nia Nia is that she will be 2 years old in September!! Yayy! She had a episode with her liver where I had to change her food to Prescription L/D food. I went and got her blood work done in June of this year and they said that everything is fine but to keep her on the prescription food. I am at a decision point now..I dont know if I should breed her or spay? She doesn't have the liver issue anymore but they said to keep her on the food..does anyone know if her being on the prescription food will affect her while pregnant or the pups? I want her to have pups for me I would like to have another one and my mom is a stay at home wife now and she needs someone to keep her company. I have no plans on making money for the pups. If she has 3 Ill just give my mom 2 of them. Can anyone help me?? Im going to update new pics of her..she was in a Halloween contest and placed runner up LOL |
Please do not breed her. She could pass whatever problem she has to her pups. Please spay her and enjoy her as a family member, not a puppy making machine... She deserves better. |
Is losing her worth you wanting another pup? It can be dangerous to have pups especially if she did have liver issues and she could pass them on even if her liver seems fine now. If you decided to breed her you need to make sure that she is AKC registered, that her and the stud get genetic testing, that both lines are free of LP, that you have lots of money in case you need to do a c section and all the care that mom and pups will need, as well as possible homes for the other pups she could have and her and the stud need to be excellent examples of the breed and falling under the standard. I would like for you to go to a couple of shelters first and see all the dogs that are in there and don't have homes and maybe you could even find the perfect yorkie to bring home with you instead of breeding your girl. |

I agree about Banfield:thumbdown What did they say was wrong with her liver ? I would take her to a good vet & get her liver checked out again as liver problems don't just go away. IF her liver checks out A-Ok then I would spay her. You need to NOT breed her as it's just too risky with small dogs & nothing like breeding the larger dogs & should deff be left to the pros. She is your pet, your baby & not worth loosing her and or the pups. Just Love her ! & Welcome back. |
