Biewer puppies I am so in love with these puppies. I thought finding a breeder for Yorkies were bad. Wow I did not realize how hard it is to find a Biewer puppy. Let alone a puppy in the Tri State area.:animal-pa |
Try Breny on here. I believe she is in Michigan. Brenda Green...Greenwood Yorkshire Terriers. She has Biewers. Good Luck. Also did you try the Ytca website? I'm waiting to bring my Biewer home, but she was purchased here...Canada...Niagara Biewers. Maybe someone else know of a breeder in your area. Hope this helps. Jacqui. |
i feel your pain I'm still looking too! I've got some great leads though and I'm hopeful I will be adding to my furbaby family soon. Good luck in your search! |
Has anyone had their dog sent by courier ? Never actually playing with the dog only seeing pictures? |

I also live in Michigan and am looking to get a beiwer in a few months :) |
Personally I would not get a Biewer. I'd look for an AKC parti, you can seek a parti breeder who doesnt dock tails, many will put you on a waiting list and leave that option open to you. Breny is very well known for wonderful gappy healthy pups on here, there are a few others as well. |
Oh really why? |

BECAUSE: many people challenge whether Biewer is really part of the Yorkshire Terrier breed. Some say that the pups created by a guy named Biewer (in Germany in the 1980s) have "some other" white dog mixed into the line. I don't know hte whole story. They're not recognized by the AKC whereas the partis are. You can find lots of stuff on this controversy online. I don't take any position on it one way or the other. Good luck. Tracey |

Sorry! Been busy.the why was for me right? Thought it was clear in my post. I only want AKC dogs. I dont doubt Biewers as being Yorkies total opposite I don't like it being challenged to have them AKC eeg accepted as a different breed. I love my Tricolored (full parti) yorkie! Ive heard there is a general health decline in biewer to biewer breeding but a parti can be bred into biewer lines and the pups can be reg IBC...so I was told. I wish the YTCA would get over it and accept them so we'd see tge vettermebt of their breeding standards. Hope thay helps why my opinion is such. |
A biewer came from a parti thats how they came to be only they were exclusively selectively line bred. Im lost on the rest once a dog isnt bred ti an AKC its out for the pups. Biewers partis and YTCA standard Yorkies ALL DNA tge same hense I beleive they are ALL Yorkies, period. |
Biewers did not evolve from partis. Especially since they occurred almost 10 years prior |

I'm not a Biewer breeder - but there are questions about how the line was developed. There's yorkie in there for sure. I think some say that the Biewer doesn't have the recessive tricolor gene. It's confusing and the story changes depending on who you talk to. |

It seems that no matter what side of the POND the yorkies happen to be on.. they produce tri colored dogs if you breed two dogs that carry the recessive genes together. One did not CREATE the other.. they STARTED as Yorkies and YORKIES they remain. -Diana :animal-pa |

I thought Mrs Biewer announced they got a tricolored yorkie from wind something kennels and this is part of why we know multiple parti lines came from champion tradition lines not just Nikkos...searching for the letter link I was shown. |

Is that kennel in Germany from an original Scottish kennel right? Im really into mini schnauzers too I have a blond (white) mini schnauzer some schnauzer ppl have said yhe parti mega coat mini schnauzers were a cross from biewers bred into them...calling them white yorkies schnauzer mixes...nothing on that is cerified though and the breeders who breed them say its also simply a recessice gene and the nega coat is only due to selective breedibg of a gene mutation... |
Actually, Stremglen kennel was in England.. |
Regardless of people's "opinions"... biewers are now recognized as a breed of their own in many countries. The US is not far before. The related ancestor in the stream glen dogs adds nothing genetically to the biewers of today. Much like the Skye terrier background or other dogs involved in the development of the Yorkshire terrier. |
