How big will my yorkie get? Hello i am a new yorkie owner i have a wonderful almost 13 week old puppy named Riley and she is a joy to have in my life. I am curious if anyone can estimate how large she will be. I've looked at the charts and they make no sense to me. At her first vet visit at 11 weeks old she was 3 and 1/2 pounds she was the same at her 12 week vet visit. Mostly because she wasn't eating we had to find a food she seems to not hate (she still isn't eating much) i assume at her 12 week vet visit she should have weighed more. i think she is about 4 pounds now and will be 13 weeks old tomorrow. I was really hoping to get a teapot yorkie (haha) the teacup yorkies make me nervous i think i would break her if she were any smaller. Can anyone estimate how big she will get? Thanks! |

it is hard to say exactly but she may be 7 to 8 pounds full grown. my oscar was 4 pounds at 12 weeks and now at nearly 1 year he is 7 1/2 pounds.. of course that is just a guess , she could be bigger or smaller.. by the time she is 8 months old you will have a better idea of her adult size. yorkie tend to slow down in growth by then |
Likely around 7 pounds not too small |
I would say that say that a puppy that is 3 1/2lbs at 12 weeks is likely going to be a teapot. Once you get her eating (soon hopefully) she will grow even faster. Sometimes you can estimate the adult size of your puppy by the parents. Did you see the mom and the dad? Even that is not a sure thing because the parents can produce pups that are either bigger or smaller than themselves. My Gracie was not 3 1/2lbs until she was around 5 months old. She was not a great eater either at first. She is 5lbs now and 2 years old. Are you feeding your puppy what the breeder was feeding? It is not a good idea to change such a young puppy's food. It is very upsetting to the digestive system. |
