New Puppy We brought our 8 week old Yorkie, Katy, home from the breeder and she would not eat, only drink water. After 3 days she became very sick so we took her to doggie ER at midnight. she had Coccidia and was treated, but still very sick. The vets did not think she would make. After 6 days in the hospital we were able to bring her home. She has been home for 3 days and is a very active puppy and getting very spoiled! |

Congratulations on your new puppy. Welcome to YT. I am sorry you both had a rough start. Glad she is doing better. |
Oh I am so sorry your puppy was sick. I went through the same thing with my baby so I know what you must be going through. Even though it might not help in every case I do think breeders keeping puppies until atleast 10-12 weeks would help see less of these types of situations. However, I live in South Africa and the accepted age to release yorkies is 8 weeks, so likely I will get my baby that young again :/ I'm just hoping I'll be better prepared then Good luck with your puppy and I hope she grows from strength to strength:) |
