Omg I'm going nuts Ok so we just got jasper last week and everythings going good BUT I also agreed to dog sit one of my friends yorkies ( tiny) and he's mean! He's bitten all of my kids not their fault and pees and poops everywhere I mean jasper is 12 weeks and has less accidents then tiny. Tiny is almost 2 yrs old I feel so bad for this dog I don't know if this means they don't pay attention to him or what? Hes a cool little dog besides that I'm just baffled at how mean he is  |
Omg Poor little guy probably just hasn't been trained at all or has been allowed to be in the custody of little children who have terrorized him. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...lies/frown.gif http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif There are a lot of dog owners who shouldn't be.. They do not understand the effects of not training and the danger of putting a little yorkie in the hands of a small child who doesn't understand (of course). I hope you can convince the owner to do the right thing by the little dog. |
He could be fear biting & sounds like he's been allowed to be the boss of his home & allowed to do & pee & poo whatever he likes wherever he likes. |
I think you're right because he'll bite out of no where they have kids too so I dont understand it and she told me that he was trained to go out side but I catch him going inside all the time my kids cant wait for him t o go home poor dog :( |
If he hasn't stayed at your house before then he may just be scared because he misses his family and doesn't know how to react. (He might be really confused with the sudden change) Have you watched him before? Does he know you and your kids well? I hope your family and Tiny adjust soon. Good luck. |
I watched an episode of Dog Whisperer with a tiny a while back that was downright mean like that and it was because he was tiny and cute and allowed to do whatever he wanted. Had not been disciplined in anyway, ever. It was amazing to watch the transformation in the little guy. Lots of times I think with the tiny's their bite doesn't hurt a lot as puppy's so we let them get by with it and then we let them think they are alpha dog in the home. |
Don't feel guilty for wanting him to go home ASAP. Sounds like this little guy has not been trained at all. It would be different if you were adopting him you would have the time and desire to retrain him. You could help him fit into your life. As it is, keep saying to everyone, ' This too shall pass...' |
No we have never watched him before but he's been here since Thursday and he still will bite out of no where hes already bitten my daughter twice and my little one the first time he was just standing next to his bed and he just "attacked" his foot didn't break any skin but still it scared my son and left him a bruise on his foot then my older son was holding him in his lap and went to pick him up to move him and he bit him on his hand no broken skin just a bruise any way he goes home later on this week funny thing is she was going to give him to us when she found out JoJo passed and then changed her mind because her son was so attached to him oh well I guess it was a good thing she didn't give him to us  |
Nothing wrong with disciplining Tiny when he's in your home. Just like skin kids I looked after for friend. I told them I would care for the kids like my own but would not let them away with anything my own kids didn't getaway with. The kids soon learned when they were with me , my rules stood. Firm but fair. |
Sounds like Tiny needs to be put in an Xpen or a room away from your kids. If he is pottying all over your house it is going to make it more difficult for your dog to be potty trained because Tiny is leaving the scent of urine where ever he goes. It does sound like the poor little guy has issues but your friend should not have imposed those issue on you and your family. It may be you need to gate him in the kitchen when your not in there so that he can't hurt anyone or pee all over your house. Next time they need a sitter say "no." |
I think Tiny has just not been disciplined and gets away with everything. I think even though our yorkies are small and so cute, like all dogs the NEED Exercise Discipline and Affection! Poor little guy:/ |
