Help Izzie is sick and I am paniced Izzie just came home from a visit to her grandparents. She h as been lethargic and when her daddy took her out for a walk she had small normal poop but then it turned tarry and then bright red blood. She has since thrown up her food which was whole and her nose is fairly dry. She is licking her paws a lot which I know is anxiety. She has also been scooting her butt in circles on the floor. I called the vet and they told me to keep an eye on her and call if she was worse. Has this happened to anyone else ??? |
It might just be a little gi upset, but if it is starting out black it could not hurt to get her checked out. |
I would call your vet back and tell them that Izzie needs to be seen immediately. If not, take her to another vet. Good luck!! Hope she is OK. |
I would take her in. But do make sure she is getting plenty of fluids. Also, you might with hold food to let her tummy rest. But i feel it would be best to have her seen. Hope she is better soon. |

I do not like seeing blood coming from anywhere it is not supposed to be coming from. These babies go downhill sooooooo fast, I do not take chances....I do not mind a vet with a calming demeanor, but I do not like one that appears to be unconcerned. |

Something else I just thought of this... A couple years ago Charlie had similar symptoms and our vet at the time could not figure it out. After visiting the specialist, they found he had gotten a parasite from eating stool. Now I watch Charlie everytime he goes out (Im to fearful of larger animals and puppy stealing) anyway I had been staying with my mom in the country and she has all kinds of animals that roam (deer, raccoon, turkeys etc) when Charlie would go out he would play in the grass eat it lick it trying to get bugs and that is how they said he got the parasite. they gave him a med to kill the parasite and he was fine but it was really hard on him, something to think about. |
Sounds like she needs to be checked out ASAP. Tar like poo could mean internal bleeding. |
Try a little nutrical. If you don't have any other kind of little squirt bottle dip the corner of a rag in water and get as much as possible in her. Next time you go to the vet get a syringe to gently force fluids. Keep her warm and quiet and get her in as soon as possible. |
Well????? How is your baby???? We all care and want to know!!! |
Checking in to see how Izzie is doing? I hope she is OK ! |
checking for an update. How is your baby?? |
