Petsmart optimum wellness plan Hi! I get my baby girl in 2 days!!! I was looking into pet insurance and Petsmart offers something called an "optimum wellness plan". They say that you pay monthly like insurance but all vet visits are covered, and any tests are included. I was wondering if anyone on here has this "coverage", and if they like it or not. Any reviews would be helpful! Thanks!! |
To me it is a moneysaver as I take my dog to the vet for checks fairly frequently but I use the E.R. Vet Clinic nearby for anything serious. |
Do you use the optimum wellness plan from petsmart? |
It's one of the wellness plans - can't recall which. Includes labs twice yearly, vaccinations, dentals, OV's. I get my money's worth just on the OV's and the labs. |
Oh wow ok perfect! So you would recommend it over pet insurance?? It sounds like it's a much better deal. But, does it cover if your baby gets sick or something and has to have sugery? Or does sugery have to come out of pocket if you don't have insurance? Thank you for being so helpful :) |
Surgery/emergencies come out of your pocket. You even have to pay for pain meds and stuff associated with surgeries. Banfield's Wellness plans are NOT the same as pet insurance. They include the cost of annual exams, vaccinations, dental cleanings, etc but anything not routine is not covered. It's a good idea and value for very common, routine procedures if your Banfield has a good staff. |
