The air tight storage bins are great for kibble. I pour the bag into one and then use a smaller air tight container that I fill and use to pour food into the dish with. I know what you mean about how they love that fresh food. I only feed kibble to the cats but when I open that air tight container they try to stick their heads in there to grab some of that kibble. If the food has been sitting in the dish for a couple of hours they want me to add fresh! I think they are kind of spoiled. Ya think? |
Some of the raw and refrigorator fresh premades, come in small amounts. It bewilders me the little amount other's dogs eat I mean I know most of you don't have a 12.2# Yorkie like I do but when we were all on TOTW we bought a 15 or 30 pound bag and it would last a month at the most here with each getting a half a cup a feeding. Of course there are those really great dog food antimicrobial containers at Costco-but they are so large made for 30+# bags of dog kibble. Using a storage system immediately after opening the bag might be your best option, plus you save $ buying bigger bags. I love those seal a meal deals but freezer zip locks might have to work and refrigerate-do not freeze. |
i agree, i wish they had more of a selection for the bag sizes. It takes my two little ones 6 weeks to get through a 5 pound bag. i would not mind going to the store every couple weeks if it meant my dogs were getting fresher food |
