These dogs are going to give me a heart attack!! My friends and I went caroling last night. My parents were out so I decided to stop at my house to let the dogs out. I made the stupid mistake of not making sure the door was closed all the way. I went and let Tucker out of his cage. That's when I noticed Rusty had gotten out, I wasn't concerned because he NEVER ever leaves the yard. So I was getting Rusty's leash (while still holding Tucker at this point) and I pulled the door shut. So I put Tucker down for a minute and my friend Mary was coming in to help. When she opened the door Tucker was out and up the street in the blink of an eye! Thats when Rusty took off after Tucker, I guess he was trying to get him back. By this time I was crying because I had no clue where Tucker was (it was dark out) and all I could think about was the dog on here that they never found. :( Thats when I called Rusty and I got his leash on. My friends and I ran down the the park and alas, there was Tucker running like a mad man in the feild. Thats when Jessica went and grabbed him. So I was hysterical (you would of thought someone was killing me.) Thats when she gave Tucker to me and I brought him home and put him in his crate (I was going back out) It appears he needs some work on the "come" command. This dog is going to kill me before his first birthday!!! |
That is so scary when they get away from you in the dark. Chachi got out my back gate and it was dark. He ran down the street and I couldnt see him. I yelled his name and he came racing back. I was so relieved! I am glad you found Tucker and he is okay. These little guys can give you such a scare. |
I am so sorry they scared you Megan. I am glad everything worked out well. |
Awe Megan, so sorry that happened to you :( . Thank God you got both of them back!!!  |
Oh Megan, this had to be so horrible for you. :( My heart just stopped reading the story of you chasing Tucker all around. Rusty sure deserves big hugs for running after Tucker, what a good boy. :dog: Thank goodness your story has a happy ending and I hope you got some rest and feel better today. :p Not to mention....I hope your caroling was fun. ;) |
Scary, Megan, but I'm glad it had a happy ending. Oh, and I love the way you used 'alas' in your description. I think you're lying about being 12. It wouldn't be the first thing you've lied about on YT. |

Thank you everyone else. My friends all actually said to me, "Only for your dogs, Megan." lol |
I know what thats like, its very scary!! Glad you got them back safe!! |
Megan, That was so scary but Im glad that he is home and safe. Rusty what a good boy, he was trying to help you with Tucker. Adorable. I hope after that scare you got to have some fun caroling. |
When Ruggles was little, he got away about 1/2 mile from the house. It was terrifying since we live near a highway. He took off at a dead run. To make a long story short, he ran straight home and was waiting on the stoop when we got there. I had no idea he could run so fast. Joey |

That sounds scarey. Gizmo has five little bells slipped around his neck on a red satin ribbon. Believe me I can hear him within a 3 house radius. It helps to keep up with him when he goes outside to do his business at night. It is cold out (even for Texas) ..when he comes back in his shivering makes his little bells ring..so cute! |
Oh Gosh Megan! That is so scary and it has happened to me too! I know how panicked you were and I am so glad you got everyone home safe! Rusty is a sweetie for helping rescue Tucker! |
