Is my Yorkie pure breed??

Hi everyone! When I bought my puppy I was told he was pure breed but I am not sure he is. How can I tell if he really is pure breed? Here is one picture, he was 12 weeks when the picture was taken. :confused:Attachment 372163

I'm guessing they didn't give you any kind of papers? You can always do a DNA test if you want to know for sure. Your pup looks almost exactly like my Toki when she was a little puppy! He is a cutie!

He looks like a yorkie to me. As mentioned you can do a DNA test. Unless you paid a premium price, if you love that little boy, you'll be rewarded beyond your dreams.

Looks like a Yorkie to me! And a very cute one at that!!! My breeder gave me AKC papers with my boys.... did you get anything like that?

I am just curious....what makes you think he may not be pure bred? Did someone say something to you?

It is hard to say when they are puppies if they are purebred. No papers? What is it that makes you think he is not purebred?

He looks like a pure bred yorkie to me, when you first got him the breeder did not have AKC paperwork on him? Anyhow, he is darling, without a doubt to me he looks 100% yorkie.:animal-pa

No, and to the OP, those two pictures you posted were definitely of different age pups.

The bottom pic IMO is a much younger dog than 12 wks.

People keep asking me if my little girl is a purebred too. I got CKC papers with her when she was 8 weeks old. Even the groomer asked because "her hair is different". Not really sure what that means!

Looks like a Yorkie to me and a cute one to boot! I know there are two different types of coats with Yorkies. My Zachary had straight hair till I got him groomed short and now he has a cotton coat.

Since Zachary is a Biewer Yorkie (tri/parti color), I am always told that he looks "kind of" like a Yorkie. When I tell people he IS a Yorkie, a Biewer Yorkie, they are surprised since many people have no idea there is such a thing!

I have pictures of my Biewer baby on my phone (posted here too) and whenever I show the pictures of her, I get asked what kind of pup is she?? What is she mixed with?? They get a real surprise when I say she is a yorkie! Everyone looks so dumbfounded...its actually kind of comical!
