need help with I have a litter of puppies here and they are now 10 weeks old, well the little one (1pound 2 oz) will not eat any thing but bread. Dose any one have any home made puppy food Recipes I can try. thanks Lynda |
diet Try baby food meats..the vet has a Science canned like baby food also. Be careful trying too many different things..it can upset the bowels. Give Nutra-Cal..and I would stop the bread..it may fill his stomach, but with little food value. Best of Luck |
try a bit of little cesars puppy mixed in to the puppy dry food the finicky eaters tend to gravitate to this. Mix only about a teaspoon coating their dry food. |
Try warming it up a bit too! |
i dont have any suggestions, but i hope your little one is ok and eats some real healthy food soon. good luck! would love to see pics of this little one soon :D . |
The meat sticks and the Lil caesars are both good ideas. I have given both to my dogs. |
Cali wouldn't eat when I first got her at 9 weeks except my poms caesars. It seems that most finicky eaters will eat this. |
Hhhmmm I dont have experience with pups (YET) ... But have you tried meat stage 1 baby food ? Like Veal, chicken ,Turkey  .. I think it would be much better than bread .. I am sure our fellow YT member will have more great suggestion and Advice ! Good luck to you and Puppy Too !! BTW Congrats on the pups Happy Holidays to you :) |
Just thought of this Ok.. I just thought of this maybe a little messy but anything to get the puppy to eat.. have you tried blending chicken broth and which ever dog food you use in to a baby food consistancy ? maybe the pup might come around .. Just trying to throw ideas out there .. Hope this wasn't to outlandish  Anyway good luck :) & keep us posted |
My little pup liked cottage cheese and Baby Gerber Chicken Stix.... Actually - the only thing he doesn't like is dog food. Carol Jean |
I was going to say to blend in the blender also. Maybe you just have a lazy little baby there and it doesn't want to take the time to actually CHEW. Blend the right nutritional mix and get it used to that flavor. Then the pup will need to start eating bigger pieces. Give the Nutrical in the meantime to make sure it is getting enough calories and such. I would not give any more bread. Good luck and keep us posted. |
