Wet ears I am looking for advice on how to make sure I get my dogs' ears good and dry after a bath. I don't bathe them as often as I would like for fear that I will get too much water in their ears, and/or not dry them well enough. Isn't there some kind of powder or something you can put in them to dry them? I looked at petsmart, but wasn't able to find anything. |
There are ear cleaning solutions that you can use after his bath. Just use a drop or two and swab it out (gently, without going too far in) with a Qtip. I still have trouble doing this task but I try. I'm not certain that this solves a water problem though. Best wishes, Tracey |
My vet gave me drops that I put in before I bathe her. She said it will dry them out. So far it has worked as I haven't had any problems and she gets a bath once a week |
Ask your vet about using a solution for hmans called "swimmers ear"...it is basically alcohol and dries the ears out very well.....works super! (I think the vets have essentially the same solution, but it costs MUCH more!!) |
I place cotton balls in my dogs ears during baths |
Great tips! Thanks! |
My aunt has a hound that has problems with ear infections her vet told her to use 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 alcohol in his ears. I had a dr tell me the same thing when I was a kid and having bad ear infections. lol it smells a little funky but it worked on me :P |
My vet gave me an ear cleaner that drys the ears out if any water and it works and doesn't bother Callie. It is called epi otic. |
