Keeping cool with summer snacks

You’ve probably seen Frosty Paws at the grocery store– they’re a great way to let your dog enjoy hot summer days. This do-it-yourself version lets you mix-and-match ingredients to treat your dog to what he loves best.
The basic recipe:
32 oz. plain yogurt
1 mashed ripe banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
Mix all of the ingredients in a blender and put in ice cube trays to freeze. Microwave for a few seconds before serving.
Super-simple, right? Here’s where you get to mix and match:
Yogurt: Use fruit-flavored yogurt instead of plain. Vanilla, banana, and strawberry are usually a hit. Steer clear of any chocolate!
Peanut Butter: Chunky or smooth, regular or non-fat. It’s all up to you; choose based on your dog’s needs! Little dogs might want to watch out for big nut chunks, while a dog with a little extra weight should probably be served the non-fat variety.
Banana: You can substitute one large jar (5 oz.) of baby food for the banana. Have fun experimenting with flavors—meat flavors can be hard to find, but worth it!
Ice Cubes: Yep, you can even mix it up here. Paper cups, popsicle molds, and fun ice-cube molds (like hearts or bones) all work. You could even stick one inside a Kong toy if you want to keep your furry friend busy! If you’re looking for a more sustainable holder for your frozen treat, a small container with a lid is nice, and can be popped back in the freezer if your pup gets interrupted.
Extras: Get creative! Add some mango or pineapple for a little tropical flair, or blueberries for anti-oxidant power.

Sounds delicious, but I'm not sure any of these wonderful treats would make it past me to my boys. :D

Sounds great:D I bought that Frosty Paws ONCE. My girls both stuck their noses up at it, and I don't blame them. We were outside in 90 degree weather, and you know what? That stuff DID NOT MELT. Ew!

What a great idea! They sound yummy...I might make these for luma, and myself, too!
