My Yorkies Ears! Banjo is 9 weeks old and ears or not standing! Should I be trying to help them a little or is it still a little to early? Breeder trimmed them but they still flopping over! |
I would give it a while. It takes time for some of them. Just keep them trimmed up. |
Miss Priss was around 5 months old when hers perked up, I think teething slows it down. I did massage her ears daily and gave her a tablespoon of cottage cheese with her kibble on a daily basis since I thought the extra calcium would help with the teething. I had heard someone on here do it so I gave it a try..That is some of the great stuff you learn here,,great advice. |
Joyce makes a good point about extra calcium. My dogs all have stand up ears and their pups did too. When I got Ginny Joy one ear flopped. I tapped it and it stood up, I think it took about a week. Check out the threads and videos on YT. They can explaine it better than my brief recap. |
Thanks |
My Puddles ears stood up by themselves about 9 weeks then both started flopping about 13 weeks. They started standing up again last week ( 15 weeks). I read on here somewhere that their ears may flop when teething. That would make since since she also became very mouthy.:animal36 |
Toki's ears stood straight up when I got her and a couple days afterward, one of the them started to flop. Then after several days, that ear would straighten up and the other would decide to flop! They'd go back and forth depending on the day. Her ears eventually stood up on their own. I didn't tape/massage them or have the hairs trimmed although all of those things can help. |
