My mom's dog was 2 1/2 pounds and lived until 14. She travelled all over the world with them and had a wonderful, healthy life. Being small doesn't necessarily mean that they will have any health problems. Just like being larger doesn't guarantee that they will be healthy. Each dog is different. Good luck with your baby! |
1 of my yorkie baby passed away 4 days before her 17th b-day she was 2.5lb. I have 3 more. one of my boys is 4y/o and is 3lb, my baby girl is a little bigger she is 5y/o and 6lb, and my tiny baby is 2.5lb at 1.5y/o. he was almost 16 oz at 3 months old ;) |
My Twinkie is 7 years old and is between 3.5-4 lbs. Pam |
These are such wonderful stories and have put my mind so much more at rest. Thank you all. :) |
My Mollie is a little under 5 lbs She is a young 11 years old. She is taller and longer and looks under fed. Ha ha not the case she eats a lot for her size. She has never been sick other than usual upset tummy. She has had teeth problems. I wouldn't worry about size it is all genetics that determine the dogs over all health I had a 15 year old male who passed away from renal failure. He injured his hip when he was about 9 jumping of the couch. This is now a forbids. Thing for my girls. He was on long term sets riles for pain. Which I later found out that it can causes renal failure |
Our tiny is 2.4 pounds and turned a year old a little over a month ago. I too worry about her and how long she will have....But, she is healthy and happy now and hopefully will be for the next 15 or more years! |
