Food and treat organization I was wondering if everyone would show me a picture of how they organize/store there doggy treats and food please. Always looking for better ways/new ideas. No matter how hard I try to organize it, it ends up still being a big mess. |
Don't have a picture of it but I use my refrigerator for all of Gracie's food and treats. She is on a raw diet so I have to store her food frozen and defrost as needed. My cats do eat kibble and I have one of those air tight storage containers for pet food. The one I have works great and keeps the kibble fresh right to the bottom. |
Always leave the food in the original bag. I put the whole bag down inside a small trashcan that had a lid that clamps on. Treats I would keep in a Rubbermaid container. |
Love this question! I keep everything in a cabinet all neat & organized. :) :animal-pa |
I keep all of Jaeger's stuff in the pedestal under the washer and dryer, except his potty treats (in a jar by the back door) and his food, which is an airtight container on the shelf over the the washer. |

We home cook, so I can't be of much help. |
Actually I read somewhere on here that the original bag is made to store the food in and if you roll it closed it really keeps the food fresh. |

If you buy a decent size bag of kibble you need an air tight container or it gets like soft cracker would after a few days.....especially in the heat. Not to mention the fact that it can attract bugs. I buy my cat food in large bags. The food would be no good if I left it in the bag for a couple of weeks. Maybe the bag would work if you had a giant chip clip for the top! |
I believe in keeping dog food in the original bag too, I keep about a weeks’ worth in small containers in the kitchen, it's easy to clean the containers so I don't have to worry about food going rancid. Air is the number one enemy of food going stale, so squeeze all air out of bag. You don’t want four inches of air over the food, especially if you live in a humid environment, so choose suitably sized containers. His bully sticks are wrapped, so I just keep them in a glass container in his room. I think they are decorative! :D |
I live is humid, bug rich Florida. Always use air tight containers. With small bags, may put several in a large rolling air tight container with a scoop inside, but I like the see-through air tight (ant-tight) containers. Anything perishable goes in fridge or freezer. |
