We are going on vacation tomorrow and return on Sunday, I am going to start the socializing and work with that for awhile. I though Sophie Kate was very social but realize she is social with her "posse" and humans. Unknown dogs not so much. |
LoL are we going to see pics of a white haired toothless senior snuggling SK soon? |
I am so sorry to hear things didn't go as you had hoped. But i must agree with the other posters. The right baby will come along when the time is right! I too so long to add a baby right now, I know Ziggy would love that as he adores ather dogs! But I am trying to be patient and wait till I move out in about 8 months! And I know the right baby girl for our family will ome along at that time. I believe that for you too. In the mean time, you could use this time to socialise your current puppy in preparation for your next baby Good luck and please keep the faith:) |
You not getting this baby reminded me of looking for number 2. I picked out a girl from on of the rescues. I just knew she was mine! She was close to Rosie's age and size. She looked like Rosie's sister! So I knew she would be perfect. Well it did not work out. She could not get along with other females. I was sad but continued my search to pup number two at a different rescue. Well she was terrified of men. Since I am the only female in the house that did not work either. I was discouraged and decided to wait for a new pup. I got on a waiting list for a new baby. Then one day out of no where and totally unexpected, I get a text from my friend about a yorkie at our local gas station. To make a long story short, that yorkie was my Mikki. She just fell into my lap and was destined to be mine. Your Mikki is out there and will be with you one day. :) |
I'm so sorry things didn't work out with the puppy adoption. I can tell how much you wanted it to happen. If I remember correctly, you volunteer with APR, where my Lane is from. :) I just peeked at the website, and I'm pretty sure I saw the puppies. Oh my goodness, they are cute! I always have to remind myself that they have to be so irresistibly cute, because of how much work they are when they are little. ;) I was actually approved for a yorkie puppy from a different rescue before we adopted Lane, and I thought long and hard about it and decided that I could offer an adult dog with a past (puppy mill rescue aka Lane) a home, but not everyone would, so I passed on the puppy. I'm still sure I made the right decision. When the right addition comes along, you and Sophie Kate will know it. :aimeeyork In the meantime, if you ever want a yorkie play date, we just moved back to Atlanta. Rory and Lane have really never met a yorkie they didn't like, though they aren't puppies, so I don't know how much it would help with that specific kind of socialization. |

I would LOVE a playdate, Sophie Kate and I are always open for fun and adventure. |

Rescues are great but tend to be inflexible. I would have another Japanese Chin instead of Zachary if the rescues I tried to adopt from hadn't been so insistant on my having a fenced yard, which I don't and CAN'T have. I was upset at the time but now am SOOOOOOO glad I DIDN'T get another Chin because I would not have my little boy!! Louise :animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |
