Just a note for those with pools....

KEEP YOU BABIES SAFE AND AWAY FROM THEM!! lol

My babies have a "yorkie yard" to go outside to get fresh air. (see albums) But, I do let them out into our backyard with me occasionally to run and play. They love this!

A few days ago, I went to lounge in the hammock and read for a bit. I let the four furkids come out with me....I kept taking role in between paragraphs in my book. Suddenly, my little one started barking like crazy. She was barking at the pool. (above ground 24 foot) I scan the pool, from my hammock, and think I see a bird. I notice the "bird" is moving VERY fast. She is barking like a mad woman. Then, to my horror, I discover its not a bird, its MACK BROWN!! He had gotten onto the deck and jumped in the pool! We keep a solar cover on it so he was happily running around the top of it...of course he was soaking wet too!

My heart DROPPED! What if she hadn't barked, and he had slipped in the water around the edge of the cover.... I shudder at the thought. My guys LOVE to swim in the pool. They all wear life jackets and only get to swim with us when we are in the pool. I guess Mack decided to be a big boy and go by himself.

Just food for thought. Keep your babies safe... if you have a pool.... YORKIE PROOF it!!!

Another summer tip-I've had to keep Jaeger on a leash in our tiny scrap of a yard at night, even though it's a 6 foot fence, because last night he wasn't leashed and got a toad-spent the whole night throwing up. :(

He's better this morning, and if Sir hadn't taken his sleeping pill already, we would have went to the ER last night.

Above ground pools can be so dangerous to dogs and other pets! Yes, please keep ladders up and steps blocked off so that pets do not get stuck in the pool unattended.

So glad you had a little life guard there to alert you to the danger!:)

So glad all are ok, there is so much to watch for with these little ones.

Oh, Mack!!!! That boy knows how to keep his momma on her toes & stop her heart in the process!

We have an in-ground pool that scares me to death. I never let the kiddos out there alone because of that, and other dangers too like snakes, big birds, thieves, etc. Both of mine don't really like the pool, but there's always a chance that they'd be playing near it and fall in:eek: It's happened to both of them but I was right there to fish them out:laugh:
