ha ha ... I almost forgot about that:D I sure did get a lot of congratulations from my (our) yt friends too:eek: She was well loved and cared for the week we had her. The offer to care for sugar (aka molasses) and currie (aka pesto:) or maybe basil..cummin oh.. I know... ginger:)?) if you NEED me for short term is always open. I would NEVER break your heart to try to keep them, besides I don't know if I could handle 5 dogs:eek: long term. I agree.. I think most people just mean they would like a dog like yours..they really don't think you are going to hand them over:):) |
Lol even my vet bless her heart said that to me. She has always told me Kyra is the cutest puppy she sees and her home is always open. I take it as a great compliment to little Kyra :). |
I hear this often. Along with the teasing threat that they are going to "steal" her. I usually respond with...yeah but once you got her home you'd be returning her quick :). One person I used to meet on my walks got annoying with her comments until I finally said to her, if she ever goes missing, I' ll be coming after you!". That ended that! |

My son used to walk my Romeo, a coal black Shih Tzu and Shanti together everyday around the block, a man knocked on my door wanting to know where I got them. Said they are so well mannered and cute, if u ever want to sell them let me give you my number. I'm like say wut now? Don't want to sell them Thanks for the compliment THEY DON'T COME TRAINED!!!! YOU HAVE TO TRAIN THEM. geeze Then the 'You gonna let them have puppies? I will buy one' answer no, I love my dogs so I alter them thanks dog stalker BUH BYE |
hmmmmm, I hear this all the time "Oh pls can I have your dog" "He's such a pretty teacup yorkie, when are you breeding him" or my fav "Wow, you really love that dog, can I hold him?":scratchhe....... Uh NO!! I hate these questions, but I do try not to be rude and seem like a yorkie snob, however it does get annoying! I love my baby and would not let anyone hold him or have him or breed him thank you very much! :shocked7q |
Truthfully, nobody has ever said that to me. I think it's partly because Tatiana is attached only to me. She shies away from other people, and gives doggie rejection to other people. She does not endear herself to others. :) However, I've had people tell me they want a dog "just like her." On a couple of occasions, they would come back with a husband or boyfriend to show them that Tatiana was "the dog they wanted." |
LoL I might get a lil flattered actually no one wants any of ny crew they're all "defective" after that thread about will planning and where would your dog or dogs go I have to cross dying off my list fir a long time. |
All the time! When I'm walking Stormy, people have actually stopped their car to ask me what kind of dog she is (she's a Shorkie so has a distinct look) and say how cute she is. I don't mind it, I know my baby is adorable :) People always ooh and ahh over her and we both like it ha. My friends that actually know her haven't offered to buy her bc well they know how much I love her, but they always say "if you ever go out of town and need someone to watch her I'd love to dogsit her" unluckily for them I always take her with me when I travel. |
Honestly, that is how I got Sophie Kate. I opened my mouth to a girl who used to work for me and offered to "babysit anytime needed". Well...one week later it was needed because Sophie Kate "was not trainable" at 3 months of age, after one week with no harness, leash or crate. Best thing I ever did is what I say now, but back then I was MAD that the girl never came to get her dog and after her being with me 3 weeks I called her and told her "Sophie Kate is doing great here, I am keeping her" (and of course wrote her a check for the price she paid). I should add when I called her "Sophie Kate" the girl was shocked that I added the Kate part to her name, that should have been her first hint of how much we love that little girl. |

I just say, you know, one of these mornings when they're barking at the shadow a tree makes on the window in the moonlight for the 12th time, I might want to take you up on that offer. May I have your number? You won't mind a call in the wee hours, or driving over to get them at that hour, will you? Then I laugh...they don't know if I'm serious or not, but it shuts them up and they laugh, too. Of course, mine DO recognize the shadow a tree makes on the window in the moonlight...well, NOW they do anyway...lol...and I'd NEVER DREAM of letting anyone take MY babies. I do believe it's a compliment, but a cliche one people say without thinking about seriously. |
