run away yorkie My girlfriend little 5lb 2 year old yorkie got out of the backyard (so she thought). Kobe was gone for about 3 weeks. She posted signs all over the neighborhood looking for Kobe and offering a $500 reward. She happened to run into an old neighbor at the market and the lady say "I can't beleive you gave your cute little yorkie to Mr. so and so, he's a mean guy. complete a-hole". My friend say "WTH I didn't give my dog to anyone. What makes you think that" The lady said I seen him with your dog. I'm pretty sure it's your dog because because I remember the tan on the top of his head." The lady took my friend and pointed out the house of the man which was in the next block from where she lived. My friend knocked on the door and explained she's looking for her dog. The man had the "NERVE" to lie and say he found the dog a week ago and requested the reward money. It's clear that he stole the dog because he seen the signs because he asked for the reward, yet never walked down the street to return the dog. AND he cut Kobe really look, I'm guessing to make him look like another dog. Anyway she gave the man $100 and told him that's he's getting because she feels he didn't return Kobe, she came and rescued Kobe. Can you believe this fool had the nerve to say he's sueing her for false advertisement and for the cost he incurred taking care of Kobe for a week. The crazy part is, this fool actually petitioned the court. They have a court day. People are nuts! |
Omgosh how absurd!!!! I hope the judge let's him know about himself!!! |
exactly. that's just ridiculous. The nerve of people. He clearly stole the dog. He needs to be arrested. He's a dog napper. |
He doesn't have a leg to stand on-he could have given the dog to a rescue organization if that was really his problem. Also, this is one of the reasons that "they" recommend that if you offer a reward for the dog, you don't make it known how much you are offering. |
At least she got her sweetie back home! Hope she wins! |

All my dogs have REWARD!!! on their tags. I agree that if you put up signs or advertise in any way, don't name a dollar amount. THANK GOD she got her baby back. That is the most important thing. I sure hope the jackbutt thief gets his in court.:mad::mad::mad::mad: Louise |

If I were here I wouldn't even go to court. There's no purpose. I wouldn't care what the court say. I'm not giving that thief another dollar. He didn't deserve what he got. |

People have lost there minds it seams these days. I am glad Kobe is back home. |
Wow Trish that's awful, where did this take place. |
I see you're in Detroit. People here are crazy, and money hungry. If they see an opportunity to make a quick buck, they'll do it. Glad your baby is back! |
Wow!!! That is unbelievable! Shame on him. I believe in Karma, so whatever happens, this guy will get his- This is why he is a piece of Shi#@ scum bag!! Glad she got her baby back, that's what would matter to me!! I think if it was me my DH would have gave him a piece of his mind and he wouldn't have bothered going to court! :D |
ha.. she could take the lady who lead her to the mean ole man as a witness. I am so sorry she had to worry about her baby for 3 weeks!!! I wonder if she could have witness on how long he had the dog.. and why if he saw the posters he didn't return the dog!!:mad::mad: |
She should counter-sue for theft and emotional distress. |
What a terrible ordeal to go through. I'll never understand the cruelly of some people. If I found someones pet I would gladly return it and refuse the reward. It's not about the money....It's about doing what's right!!!! sigh..... |

I doubt this jerk is going to take her court. He will lose if he does. This is just another reason why people should not leave their pets outside even in a fenced yard. We have seen several reports of dogs being taken from their yards and of other dogs getting into fenced yards and attacking the pets they find in there. We live in such a messed up world our pets need us to be one step ahead of those who would harm them.:( |
Donna, do you really need to ask. Detroit of course............:( Quote:

We should be able to leave our dogs in our fenced yards. That's the purpose of the fence. She didn't do anything wrong. The scum that took the dog is wrong. He did actually petition the court. I person think it will be thrown out because it's all he said she said. She has no way to prove he took the dog, she has no way to prove how long he had the dog, He has no way to prove her returned (which he didn't) the dog and deserves the reward. I don't think any judge in his right mind would even attempt to make a decision out of this foolishness. Quote:

Yes, I agree, people should be able to allow their pets to be in a fenced yard, and feel confident the dog is safe. However, in todays world, A Yorkie is a highly desesirable dog. Some people will try anything to get their hands on this type of breed. I had Suzi out with me on the front patio, leashed, tagged, microchipped and all, and a neighbor told me they would take her in a heartbeat if I did not want her anymore:eek: NO, she is our baby, and never going anywhere to any other home. Our shihh tzu is beautiful, sweet and has a mellow personality, a great lap dog, yet everytime the focus is on our yorkie they are just too high in demand, so we all have to be exceedingly cautious at all times where our yorkie's are and not to ever leave them unsupervised. |

American Kennel Club - Protect Your Pet from Theft These warnings have been on news broadcasts as well as many national and local newspapers. No, the one who had her dog stolen did nothing wrong but it seems we have to go the extra mile in protecting our pets due to the nature of the world we now live in. |
