TRUPANION or HEALTHY PAWS???? I am sure this has been discussed before but I would like to have some RECENT reviews about the differences between these two pet insurance companies before I make a final decision. I was not going to insure Zachary but after reading about all the possible health problems he could have in his lifetime, I have decided it would be a wise thing to do. If you have had a experience, positive or negative with either of these companies, I would love to hear about them. I am leaning towards Trupanion because they have a $0 deductable. I will be 65 in January and I really would rather not be hit up with a big vet bill as the months/years go by. Thanks in advance, Louise :animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |
I have Trupanion and have been nothing but impressed. I also have chosen 0 deductible as well. It truly has been a lifesaver. It costs me about $500 a year paying my monthly premium. I have received back over a $1,200 in covered costs. It truly has payed for itself. I insured Taycie when she was 5 months old and have no regrets. My best advice if thinking of insuring your puppy do it sooner to avoid any pre existing conditions. Trupanion also covers Congential and Hereditary Defects as well. One of the big reasons why I went with them. They also just recently started paying for Therapeutic Pet Food. And since my Taycie is on a RX diet. I also have part of this covered as well. I also received an email stating they now cover costs like wheelchairs. I am so happy I went with them. Remember, with Trupanion you do have to pay the initial vet exam fee and then they pay 90% of the vet bill. It is as simple as that. The thing that drew my too them was they have NO lifetime limit and they cover the SUPER scary stuff. I can plan for and would budget for preventative care. I believe that is part of owning a pet. But its the super duper expensive scary stuff that runs you thousands of dollars that I can't plan for. All and All I Love Trupanion. Wouldn't be without it. |
