Oh my gosh!!!! Ok, one of my friends on FB has a picture of her little yorkie, 3 lbs. She is such a cutie. One of her friends mentioned about breeding her with her "mini"-schnauzer. I made a comment that my friends little Maggie is to cute to birth mutts. She commented back saying, "If you breed two pure breeds together their puppies are not mutts but pure breed." Could someone explain this to me. I'm thinking mutt and AKC wouldn't recognize them. Doesn't that make the pups a mutt? I'm thinking she is thinking designer dog. To me they are mutts. |
Two different breeds don't result in purebred. Purebred means like breed to like breed and no akc wouldn't recognize them. Bigger worry is breeding a 3 pound dog..she is far too small. |
Fortunate for little Maggie, her momma knows that. She said she was to small. Cudos to her. I would love to reply, but I'm afraid it would start something really negative on my friends wall. I just won't do that. But I will inbox her. |
