Riley Can Ride On WMATA Bus and Metro/Subway It was just brought to my attention that WMATA changed their policies.... of course they didn't bother announcing it or anything. This has been in effect since at least June, 2011. Riley is going to be Soooo Excited when I tell him!! LOL  :D Can I bring my dog on Metrorail and Metrobus? Service animals that assist people with disabilities are the only animals permitted to ride unconfined on Metrorail and Metrobus. However, a pet may be transported on Metrorail and Metrobus, provided it is carried aboard in a secure container from which it cannot escape. |
This is great news. :) |
Hi~! YES!!! we took Truffles on Metrorail ( in dog carrier purse) to DC for Cherry blossom festival evening. she did great! Some peoples near us came to us or asked us if the dogs are aloud on in and my husband showed web site on iPhone to prove it :D they were shock! but we were so happy :) |
Yeah.... not sure when they changed it but it definitely wasn't like that in July 2010. Someone told me it will be a good idea to print off the FAQs in case an employee or person asked.... But even better I can show it from my cell. phone!! :) Now if they would let them on AMTRAK... I would be set!! That changed to No Dogs on board, back in 1976!! :D |
Great! Dogs are allowed on the trains in Boston, so long as they don't annoy the passengers and are leashed. I've never taken mine on the trains, but I bet they would be really into it. As for Amtrak, in my many trips to/from NYC, I've seen more than one dog-in-a-bag. |
How great! I rode the Amtrak to Portland and was really disappointed that they don't allow dogs. I bet I could have snuck my two on, but it wasn't worth the risk. |

That will be very nice for you.:) |
Riley Can Ride On WMATA Bus and Metro/Subway Southwest Airlines enjoys strong brand loyalty among its passengers and is likely to lose little business as a result of last Friday's emergency landing of a jet with a hole torn in its roof, according to a veteran industry observer. Thanks |
