Detangler for yorkie coats I'm sure this question has been asked before. I've looked through the old posts and can't find anything. Minnie has a really nice straight, silky coat so I'd like to let it grow out. Since yorkies are "single-coated" I'm hoping the heat won't get to her. But she turns into Cujo if you come across the tiniest snarl. Is there a detangler that actually works before brushing and not just after bathing? Thanks for your help. |
Nature's Specialities Quicker Slicker. The only detangling product I've ever purchased that actually WORKS. Natural Pet Shampoos and Groomer Products - Natures Specialties Manufacturing |
Thanks bchgirl. |
I use Nature's Specialities shampoo and conditioner and have tried the detangler before but love Chris Christensen's Ice on Ice even better. Good luck! |
Thanks Angie. |
I have tried and loved a lot of different products. my current favorite is Crown Royale Biovite Shampoo and Condition Plus which I use on Lollie, my show bitch. I use Minksheen on my sweet little Peppy. |
I like the Yorkie Sheen from Yorkie Splash and Shine, it also smells good. |
A lot depends on the type of coat your dog has. I'm sure any of the products suggested are good. Some of the thicker coats need a stronger detangler. Now that Gracie's puppy coat is all gone her ends don't tangle quite as much. I still spray her ends with a conditioning spray when I comb her daily. |
I'm a fan of Chris Christensen Ice on Ice. |
I use infusion leave in conditioner mixed with a little water. |
I really like the Yorkie Sheen detangler. However, for Rosie, who has the long silky hair, I have found a conditioner that is really taking the work out of tangles. It is PEK by IV San Bernard. IV SAN BERNARD PEK CONDITIONER It looks expensive but it only takes a little bit. It can also be used as a detangler for in between bathing mats. I think you would love it. |
