Baby teeth My Zoe is 6 months old today, she is rapidly losing her baby teeth, however her 2 long bottom teeth are being stubborn and her adult teeth are almost as long as those baby teeth, I was planning to wait until she is 8 months to get her spade when they would pull any remaining baby teeth at the same time, my question is if these don't fall out soon will it mess up her bite? Should I take her in before 8 months? |
As long as she is over 2.5 lbs, I would think she'd be okay to be spayed before then-they could still pull the teeth while they had her out. Why were you waiting until she was eight months? |
I'm putting it off because I am scared. She weighs 4.4 # so isn't real tiny, I am just dreading it and the vet said I shouldn't go longer than 8 months. However if it is going to mess up her teeth then I would do it earlier. I guess I just can't bare to leave her for the surgery. |
Luma got spayed last week. She is almost 6months, and weighs less than 4lbs. She was supposed to get her canines (the long ones) pulled too, but the vet said they aren't even close to coming up under the other ones, so we had to hold off on the teeth. Luma did GREAT during surgery, yay!! It was still scary though. If your vet says he thinks he could pull them, I would go ahead and get her spayed. You don't wanna wait too long, or she may start her heat cycle which is messy and really unnecessary IMO. It is REALLY scary to drop your baby off and know she's getting a major surgery. I cried that whole day, seriously!! But she's healing now and she's good as new. Oh, and it costs more, but you should definitely opt to get the pre-op bloodwork done. It'll show if she has any reason NOT to go under anesthesia, and it made me feel sooooo much better about it!! |

I read your whole post about Luma, I still am dreading it! I will do all the bloodworm, laser, and anything else my vet recommends. My baby is worth whatever it takes. I will also bring her home the same night if everything goes okay because I don't want her staying in a strange place especially if she doesn't feel well. |
