You go, girl. |
thanks |
the other night she come out from under the bed and she did it tonight on her own. I didn't say a word to her. I just went on taking things out of the room that need to be. but mom was calling her. but I told her not pay anything to her just let her come out on her own and she did ad went right into her bed/pen. so far she is doing something good. wouldn't u say so. |
It took a while for Chloe to really get the come command. I just stayed calm and consistant. It takes a while but its worth the effort. I always had a treat bag with me (clips onto waistband) and every time she came I rewarded her with a treat. Then moved to giving treats randomly. Now she comes everytime :) Like others have said your emotions have a big impact on successful training. A dog can really read your emotional state, they are smart little buggers :) |

Come is a great command to know but stay along with the hand command that goes along with it, can save her life. If she is across the street 'come' is not what you would use but STAY is it. I don't want you to do something the opposite of what your trainer is telling you, just something to think about. |

I do stay clam but after a while it does get to me so I guess that may make a different. I just don't know any more there some days she will come part of the way and then come to me all the way and some days nothing at all. like I don't even know who u are kind of thing and not hearing me but we know she can hear. |
stay is other one she don't do that good at either. with the trainer at petsmart we had a week on different thing like come sit stay and others for a week before u go into week to. so I think they should make the class a little bit longer then 6 week or the time longer then an hour if they don't want to do more then 6 week of classes. to make sure that everything work good for everyone. but I don't think they would do any of that. I knew some of it would take longer then a week for her to get but when the trainer did she did most of it right away for her but not for me. |
yes I am happy that she came out from under the bed on her own last night. I am not going to say anything to her when she does just let her do her thing right now when that happen. she has her reason for going under the bed for and we don't know why. |

DSD TV Shows | Dog Star Daily If you click on the link above and watch the videos you will see that they are teaching the pups just one small action at a time and they are actually doing it over and over. Dogs only learn one step at a time and they do not understand English. You have to teach them your language. If you do it right and be patient you will have a very smart dog. Just try to teach her one small thing at a time. Rewards are very important and work much better than scolding. Go over it again and again but take breaks so your dog does not become bored with what you are doing. |
Sorry if this has already been asked or mentioned but how old is your little girl? I have had other dogs before my Yorkie Chloe and it was SOOO easy to train the other dogs. Even my first dog was very well trained by 6 months old. I have noticed that Yorkies (not just mine) are more of a challenge to train. I know it can be frustrating for you when you are trying so hard but she will come around. With Chloe I just kept a good sense of humour and laughed when she was being a stubborn little bugger lol. They are a stubborn and headstrong breed but what a delight the are too. It took me over a year to get Chloe to respond to my commands, it was almost as if she was testing me to see if I could be trusted lmao. Once she was totally bonded with me (now sometimes almost to the point of ridiculous lol) it was as if she wanted to do anything I wanted her to do. She has become such a wonderful companion and is now so loyal and eager to please. So dont worry it will come in time :) |
yeah I should have said something about it at the time. but I didn't but then again she would do it for her but when we are at home she really wouldn't do it. |
yeah I looked at the site but not a video yet. yeah it look like I have to get her to do one thing at a time and it look like it 's will be come first since thats what we want her to do right now. and later do something different that she need to do like stay that going to be other hard one for her. |
yeah my other dog we use to have listen a lot better but she was older then what my yorkie that we got. but we didn't know how old but she was a puppy I think she was when we got her from a pet story years ago. but she was bigger then what mine is now. if I knew that they would be this hard to train I might not got one but then again I just still get one since we love her to death. she is 10 months old. at time I think she think that she is the top dog and she tell us what to do. and I don't want it that way. but I have to work harder with her to get something out of her. |
