My Poor Willow My sweet little Willow, I took her in this morning for a Dental. We adopted her in November 2010 and at that time she had 17 teeth removed on top of what ever had already fallen out. So she only had 6 teeth left. Upon her 6 month check up 3 weeks ago it was noticed that 3 of the teeth were loose, so I scheduled her dental. Will I dropped her off at 8 AM this morning. Vet called at 10:00 and said no teeth were pulled. She had Dental X-rays taken and it's not her teeth that are the problem, it's her lower right jaw bone that is starting to fall apart. They said if they pulled any teeth it break her jaw. They cleaned her 6 teeth. We are going to keep a watch on it and if starts to bother her, we will schedule an appointment with a Canine Dental Specialist. Willow was a breeder dog, that was turned over to rescue when the breeder was done with her. This just breaks my heart for Willow. She is only 7 yrs old. DAMN I so hate breeders that breed these babies to much and don't take care of them. I pray that we don't have to break her jaw bone and have it wired shut to heal. I am just in tears. |
Poor Willow and poor you. I am so sorry to hear about her dental/jaw problems. I hope and pray that her jaw bone will hold together and she will have no further problems. Hugs to you and sweet Willow! |
That poor little baby.. I feel so bad that you are facing this. Hugs and prayers for little Willow. |
Poor baby girl:( It is so sad to see what damage these bad breeders do by continually breeding these little babies:( I am so sorry. |
I will add Willow to my prayers. Poor sweet girl. |
How sad this is. I sure hope willow will not have to have more surgeries. |
I am so sorry to hear about Willow. Brandi like Willow was in the same identical situation when I acquire her at 7 yrs old. She had to had 25 teeth pulled and just this past October she had her remaining 4 teeth pulled. While Brandi didn't have any issues with her jaw, she certainly has had other issues with her health which I believe to be a direct result of her being bred so much. She was so neglected, I practically cried the first time I took her to the vet. She has had ongoing issues from the moment I got her. She will be 12 in July and for the most part she is healthy except for a lingering uti issue that the vet can not diagnose. If this last round of anti-biotics does not work, she will have to go to a specialist. I know Willow will be okay because she has somebody who geninuely cares for her. Just be sure to promise her (like I did with Brandi) that she will live the life of a diva. On the plus side, Brandi's little tongue is always sticking out because she doesn't have any teeth. :D:D:D:D:D |
I wish I could get my hands on the people who abuse these poor helpless ones and put them in this position. GOD BLESS YOU for taking this baby in and taking such good care of her. I know it would break my heart to see her suffer like this but as I have stated before, I think there is a special place in HELL for people like this (though I don't wish Hell on anyone, I hope there is such a special place if they go there). That is such terrible news. Poor little Willow. Those people who overbred that little darling should be taken to the woodshed and thrashed but good!!! A good old-fashioned "hiding" as my old grandfather used to call it! To think that she is going through all of this - wiring in her jaw - the pain, inability to eat properly, due to people's greed & total lack of caring about something so little & vulnerable & totally trusting. I'm not a violent person but greeders that hurt innocent dogs & cause endless suffering do tend to get me in a state of wanting to do something to make them have to know what it is like to be treated so wrong. I think a sheriff or policeman should smack their backsides but good & fine them, jail them & see to it they never get to have another pet - even a goldfish! Poor sweet Willow Grace, at least now has a wonderful home with a lovely mommie! Thank you, Vicki, for giving her this good life she now has, even though the scars from her former life are there for you & she to have to deal with. Little Willow is blessed to have found you. I pray her jaw heals properly. |

They just laughed at me this morning when I dropped her. I gave them her soft pillow and her blanket and a T-shirt of mine, to keep with her for the day. But my Vet is used to way I am. Other people in there also dropping off pet's for surgery were looking at me like, Ok a crazy lady. I get to pick her up at 3:00, another hour and half to go. |
Poor baby:cry: And people wonder why we YT'ers get SO upset at irresponsible breeding. THIS is why. The poor little Momma dogs are the ones that suffer the most. GOOD breeders take care of their girls like queens, while greeders just USE them up:mad: I'm sure that lack of nutrition prior to your adopting her has a lot to do with her dental/jaw issues. Thank GOD she is with you now!!!! I know you'll do everything you can to help her. Please give her a kiss from me:kiss: |
That poor little baby. It makes me sick too to see how they are bred and used up and thrown aside. At least now she has you, someone that will love her and take good care of her. As far as what people think????I am slowly but surely getting to the point of not caring what they think. It made her feel secure to have those things with her. I was changing into my gown the other night and Kayla grabbed my bra and run with it. I just let her have it and she slept with it all night. lol!!! I guess I'm crazy too. lol!! But, I and probably like you, wouldn't take nothing for my babies. Hope that sweet baby gets to feeling better soon. |
awww poor little thing. Prayers going out for her. |

I so agree... Post like this should be read by all people who want to breed! I am not talking about our established responsible breeders of course |
that is so terrible for Willow. Poor baby, but she is lucky now to have such loving dog parents to help her get through all her health needs. It is a shame and sickning what people can and do to their pets. I hope the best for Willow, and glad she did not need anymore teeth pulled. 7 yrs old is not very old for this to be happening, my heart goes out to her and you. |
