morgan itchy i think morgan might have allergies// he is always scratching and i use the yorkie shine and conditioner and i was wondering if i should switch him to a grain free food/ he has been eating merrick for a year now and get groomed every 4 weeks |
It could be the food or it could be other things. I would discuss with my vet. My mom's pup can only use a medicated shampoo or she itches all the time. It could be that as well. The vet was how they found out what the problem was that caused her to itch. So really you should discuss with your vet. |
thank you, I will do that |
I am pretty sure this is the shampoo she is using on her pup. It has worked wonders for her. ![]() |
I will give that a try thanks for your help |

Awww, poor baby! Itching all the time is miserable:( My two are allergic to fleas, so even though they are on K9AdvantixII, if even ONE flea gets on them from somewhere, they will itch themselves silly. Definitely talk to the vet, they will help you stop your poor baby's itchies. Hope Morgan feels better soon! |
If the skin looks healthy then you don't need medicated shampoo. Look at the skin all over the body for dry spots or redness. If the skin looks fine then run a flea comb through just to make sure no fleas have jumped on. A dog with a flea allergy with have itching even with one lonely flea on the body. Sometimes a food allergy can cause itching. Does your dog just scratch in one particular place? Does he chew also or just scratch? Don't use medicated shampoo unless there is something you can see on the skin. That is just treating the symptoms and not really dealing with the actual cause of the problem. |
i am taking morgan to the vet on friday// his skin is not red or ittitated// he itches around his ears |

usually ear infections exist because another part of the dog is "unwell" and causing a weakness in the immune system which can lead to ear infections or allergies and hives. perhaps look deeper than just the ears |
