Yes! It also includes pets riding in the back of pick up trucks! I hope people take this seriously. It's such an important issue. Maybe other states will get a clue and do the same. It is dangerous to the pet as well as to the people to have a pet loose in the vehicle no matter how well behaved the animal is. I don't think the coast guard will go after you unless he is actually driving! |
Buddy, Golden Retriever, wears a doggie seltbelt harness in the car and is still able to stick he head out at lights and stops signs. I wonder if the cops would ticket me or not? He is secured but his head is out the window. |

As a walker on narrow country roads (never with Piper), I hate people who let there large dogs hang their heads and half their bodies out the window. I can't tell you how many times dogs have bark and lunged towards my face as their owners drive by. It can really give you a scare and a face full of spittle. |

That's wonderful and it should be so in all states. SO many idiots here in Florida let their dogs hang halfway out of the window, OR they put them in the pickup bed, where they are sure to be killed if there's an accident:( |
Now I am upset. I was just watching a national news network and they were making fun of the law saying that it was a stupid idea. They obviously know nothing about the hazard a pet loose in a car can be. They might consider getting informed on a subject before deciding to bash it nation wide. |

There was a story on the news about that here this evening. Apparently there are several states that already have a law in place. I agree. Bella has her carseat in the back seat of my car. We travel, it's moved to the other vehicle. But sometimes when we both are traveling in the truck she rides in my lap. I do agree there should be some kind of law for all states. |
