Hi and welcome he sure is a cutie!! There are test that can be done like a DNA test that will tell you |
Welcome to YT! OMgosh, that's one darling face:D He looks yorkie to me. |
Welcome - he is a cutie - he looks purebred, but like the OP said, you can have his DNA tested if you really want to know for sure. |
Welcome to YT!! Hey, I see your "local" ;) Full breed or not is hard to determine by a picture alone. The only way to know for certain is a DNA Test. As long as your baby makes you happy, and you love your baby, it doesn't matter. If anyone tells you otherwise, smile and ignore them. :D He looks adorable and I see a lot of yorkie features in him. |
He's sure a cutie pie in the photo. Look at him watching you snap the picture! :D What a smart little boy!! I'd agree with the posts above that the only way you'd know for sure is to have a DNA test done. He sure looks like a yorkie to me though and has lovely markings. If you love him that's really all that matters though. :) |
i don't know how to respond to this posting and i am not sure if i am doing it correctly i am new here but i was just wondering because people say hes too big to be a full breed i love the little guy and he does make me happy i wasnt for sure what he is i was told he is full bred but who know for sure today he is four months exact |
BTW how do i check when people respond to me i had trouble finding my post -___- |
BTW thank you all |
Yorkies come in all colors and sizes....you cant listen to people that tell you, "He's too big to be a Yorkie".......Yorkies used to be large and they have been bred down in size...but every once in awhile, you will get a throwback to the larger genes.....just more to love!!! And your young man is indeed a handsome fella, all sharp and attentive, posing nicely for his picture! He is adorable! |
Yes I agree, yorkies come in all shapes and sizes. If he is larger than what the standard states (no more than 7 pounds) it doesn't mean he isn't a full yorkie. Also many uninformed people think that all yorkies have upright ears, and that if they have floppy ears they are mixed. Not true! The ears must be trained to stay up by trimming the hair on the top third of the ear, and sometimes requiring taping them up. But many people also like the floppy eared look bc they have that "forever puppy" look. There are many on here with bigger yorkies. We affectionately call them "teapots" a play on the word "teacup", which btw there is no such classification of teacup size yorkies. BTW I am in Anaheim too! Where abouts are you? I'm at the border of Anaheim/Placentia/Fullerton. :) and welcome to YT! |
